Thread regarding Paramount Global layoffs

The fate of remote workers

This is how I understand things will play out as well. If anyone can confirm, please do.

All of this is purely speculation, but given that remote workers are included in Phase 2, the coming layoffs will probably be related to other factors and not necessarily if you're remote or not. Then next year, you'll all be assigned a NY/LA office and you'll need to relocate by Q3, or else be let go.

@aa it's not weird. Because no one knows what is happening with any of the offices. Our team just hired a remote worker because not even HR/facilities know which offices outside of LA/NYC will be kept and not even HR knows how phase 2 will actually be implemented. Everything is just speculation right now.

RE: nashville -- FWIW if you check the current roles the org is hiring for, several of them are listed in nashville. it would be very bizarre to be hiring for a location that they wouldn't consider as a legit location in 2-8 months...

Jobs will go to Nashville but they will be Oracle employees. Oracle has posted a number of streaming related job openings in Nashville recently. That $100m contract wasn't just for hardware.

no chance nashville is considered or they will use an Oracle office- at least for streaming

I don’t see them budging on remote workers. Maybe if you organize and all band together.

Heard through an HR source that Nashville is being floated as a possible relocation alternative to NY/LA. I assume it has something to do with Oracle's move there. This is just a rumor though.
