Holy f another word vomit. Can we all be more concise?
The writing is on the wall. Imperial is done. We will all be Exxon Mobil Companies of Canada employees by year end,”what is left of us” it is just an extension of what it already is. It's like selling your house. You make it all look pretty for the market, very attractive for buyers”which will be Exxon” because then their shareholders approve. Exxon will never let their stake go, not with the accces to the oil-sands. It will be owned by an American company”EXXON”. Why do you think that the American energy secretary and the Canadian energy minister were up at Kearl almost 2 weeks ago. “Ding Ding” going around with their security detail in tow. EXXON didn’t become one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies in the world by being nice. They are wolves in sheep clothing. Another take away, why did the mine manager ole Dougie Wilkins leave just after the announcement. “Ding Ding” he knew what was happening and through his networking he never missed a beat gone off to another company. When I was hired we were told many different things. We were told there are 3 cardinal rules at IOL/Kearl 1. Never Lie 2. Never Cheat 3. Never Steal. Well IOL/Kearl has done it all to the employees. I mean hey, it’s ur sand box, we are just playing in it!! Good luck to all. Hoping I get an offer to leave,”PLEASE” I have the years and age to go. Look at the shares today. Get ready for a big down turn. I sold mine already. Oh and don’t think ole Donny T never had anything to do with this. It’ll be slll American controlled soon. That’s what Donny T wants, access just like the news earlier this week on Washington buying into Canadian companys.
@ca Some of the field leadership are way to incompetent to be where they are.
You have the project guy who has never made a real decision in his life and is just nice to everyone.
You have the old guys who are just there but they don’t actively manage people and systems.
You have engineers who have no place in the field and are just being run up through the ranks (often because they are female)
Then you have some young su-k ups that who knows what they have ever done. Just over confident millennials used to being patted on the back by their work parents.
Finally you have the real hard working people who do stuff that will get overlooked. You never see those people. They are head down and keeping the place running.
The severance package is reasonable. Those who have their "numbers" and are eligible for undiscounted annuity will accept it happily.
If you dont think field people will be impacted you're delusional.
Probably for kearl the main impact is that you'll be working for an entirely different company after a sale.
go in and read the functional presentations, it clearly states in those which functions are impacted..goto/Canada
@am no that's not what the email said.
@am There are many at Kearl site who are in the scope and have received their severance estimates. They have until Oct 31 to complete a mobility survey and find out their fate Jan 2026.
They said no positions are part of this. Believe it or not. Email stated that if you haven’t received anything you are outside the scope.
