Don't do it. You will regret it.

to the future Nobel laureates who can't imagine how a person would know the applicants race or ethnicity. The applicant literally checks this off at the end of the application.

I left CityLine in 2021. Gave 2wks notice, and they let me complete it. Cleared my claims queue and bid them adieu. No desire to work in insurance again, but would pick a different company if I did. Good luck~

@c6 also, could it be the case that your friend's son has a job history that would typically be deemed/considered as 'overqualified' compared to the average claims candidate?

i know that you had mentioned his 3.8 gpa and relatively strong work experience and so i'm wondering if recruiting may have seen the profile as someone who may have a skillet that may be better suited for other roles...........just wondering, not trying to undermine what you're saying at all.........

@c6 wait are you saying that if you a member of a particular class you are more likely going to be hired? i am perplexed on how recruiting would be able to identify that based on name alone ......

If you check a box you will be hired! If you do not, you don't have a chance. I recommend a friend of mines son who had a good work history and graduated college with a 3.8 GPA. 22 year old white male. He got an almost immediate rejection for the 4 jobs he applied for. We thought it was kind of funny because 2 members of leadership had sent in a referral/recommendation. Just for giggles we had his 51 year old mom apply that had not worked in 20 years. Within a week, she was contacted for an interview for one of the same jobs he applied for. Pretty much explains what SF is trying to do! Place is a sh-t hole! The people running it a sc-m of the earth!

@b3 thank u for the insight! i can't seem to think of why i would be deemed not rehirable. my manager at the time even told me i was welcome to come back.....

I would think it is dependent on the department. There are a lot of rehires in auto claim technical/specialty roles. There is a do not rehire list, however usually that is if you have been terminated for cause (it will be noted by your last manager in the termination paperwork - not shared with employee). My understanding is that Claims needs bodies, so if you have experience with that and left on good terms I would think you have a good shot, especially as they need experienced people right now.

There are plenty of ex-employees who have been rehired. However, there is a do not rehire list. So if you have applied and been rejected chances are you are on the do not rehire list.

@OP if you are a white male forget about it.

to add to my original post, i did apply a few times over the past few years but never got an offer :( so i'm thinking that they don't hire ex employees? (even though i'm sure they don't say that).............
