Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Everything feels like mass attrition

Every option on the table seems designed to make you quit, get you fired, or push you out in a layoff. Not even relocation looks like a saving grace if you manage to survive the cuts. It’s clear they just want to get rid of us and offshore everything that can possibly be offshored.

@b7 the key difference between Toronto to Calgary vs Calgary to Edmonton is that 500-600 jobs will be outsourced. EM uses Canadian natural resources to serve their cash cow and economic monopoly. what do you think about this?

@OP Well said! It will start getting worse from here on - this Company will do things to push people out the door so they won’t have to pay severance or relocation. Ppl will just quit to avoid any more BS that management is going to dole out.

Well 2014 was the toronto exit. 1 building at a time until there were none, including employees.

This started in 2020-2021. In my experience, anyone who chose to stay afterwards was a clueless loser or a new hire kid who doesn’t know any better.
