I see there are many title changes across PEP. Should I be concerned if my title didn’t change? Worried about restructures and org changes.

@sw or it used to change the bonus structures for given titles
@s3 spot on.
Title changes are used for layoff documentation (we discovered there's actually 80 people with x title, we only need 50). They have to "document" that theres too many people in certain role, and can't if 80 people have 5 different job titles. Risk lawsuits otherwise. Typically part of "base lining" exercise done by restructuring advisors with HR (part of their job is reducing likelihood of lawsuit). Right on schedule for pre Christmas cut.
I think the title changes were made so they can say they have too much headcount in a specific area and use that to do more layoffs. I was a HRAC, now People ops associate coordinator. they got rid of a bunch or HRACs, down to 16 of us. By changing the title, it will be easier to get rid of the last of us. If they had kept is coded as HRAC it would look like they "need" that role since there are on 16, but lumping us i. with people ops they can easily cut us. Which they plan to anyway since now we are training mangers how to enter position changes on teams, soon they will be doing this on my services. The reports I am required to pull can be automated.
You shouldn’t worry about a title change but as long as you work for PepsiCo you WILL see reorganization and restructuring every year and a half to three years and you will eventually get caught up in probably more than one. It’s an unfortunate part of the culture. They’ll eliminate jobs only to bring them back in 5 years. Make markets larger only to make them smaller a couple years later. If you haven’t noticed they’re not very good at what they do…DLT….and constantly changing creates job security or so they think. My recommendation if you don’t embrace change….leave and do so quickly
@dy HR doesn't lift a finger unless they have a reason...no "architecture" project happens without cuts planned. If there weren't cuts planned HR would have ki-led this "architecture" work 6 months ago: "let's see ROI and justification, not worth effort etc". Once it's about cutting 20%, all of sudden all on board
Global job architecture project to align titles across sectors and divisions. No change to reporting, level, pay.
@dk Or Mexico
@bk Not all people leaders were informed. Their directs are discovering the changes and informing them. Why wasn’t an email or a message posted on MyPepsiCo explaining the need for the change? Is it because people would be asking about reorg and loss of more USA jobs to outsourcing companies in India?
No you shouldn’t be worried about that. Your manager should explain the change in title. There is no change in level or pay.
