Check your contract language. Sometimes if they stay for a certain time they ate considered permanent. They probably laid off the person in charge of term terminations.

The company is permitted to hire. In lieu of off the street hires, it can offer terms permanent positions. From the union perspective, the addition of junior employees will help protect incumbents in the event of a layoff.

I never minded terms being made permanent. Their seniority was less than mine.

File a grievance based on seniority and past precedence.

I've heard of other locals allowing this.

Hire on for three, after that the Local and Company come to an agreement.
Talk to your Local Prez, not the interweb.
U must be a Combo Tec.
