Public Policy Ireland Celebration!

Wasn’t it great to see the person that represents Verizon to Congress to help offshore jobs, go to Ireland where those American jobs were moved to and celebrate it on LinkedIn? Leadership personified! Exhilarating and exciting indeed. Can’t wait to see what lives and communities they offshore next!

@a5 this hits at the root of America’s current political state. The corporate execs that have conspired with the government to offshore jobs has been a direct attack on the futures of so many American families. The arrogance of executives to celebrate it as wins in transformation slides is truly immoral and disgusting.

Take a poll on how many people of Ireland want Indians in their country. I’ll wait.

Beyond that.... it's telling that senior execs will do showcases around the globe at VZ facilities, except in the US. They can claim, 'well we are based here, so we see it all', yet they spend more time doing panels and talks outside the company, when do they spend time with employees themselves? And the so-called campuses are a smoke screen to check of a box. Senior leadership has zero incentive to really change.

Why would I pay US wages for employees that won't come into the office?
I can get the same quality of service (or lack thereof) paying overseas wages.
Whether you admit it or not, everyone of you would make the same decision if you were in my shoes.
