Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Q: Layoff vs. Relocation Package

Does the relocation package offering follow the same Tuesday after pay week timing like the layoffs, or is it different? Still a 30 day period to decide on relocation package offering accept or decline?

Any other comments from someone having recently gone through this is welcomed.

@a7 are you notified the same way as everyone else is and you won’t know whether you’re given the option to relo or commute to your job / if it’s moving to a new hub location?? Just curious if you’re notified the same day in the same way, or if folks receive a letter from HR in the mail, etc.

I do t think they provide a "package." If so, it's done on an exception basis which is very rare. It's you need to move and good luck. That's it

What does the relocation package include? Do they pay to move your belongings to the hub location? Do they assist with the reselling of your home? Do they provide temporary housing while you look for a new home? Do they give you a bonus for accepting the relocation offer?

An offer for relocation can be given at any time.

Remember, even if you take the relocation package, there’s no guarantee you won’t be laid off a few months later. This happened to several Wells Fargo employees I know who took the relocation package disrupted their lives and they were laid off within six months.

Just happened to me. You are given 30 days notice to decide whether to take the package or not. If you don't take it, they will not tell you when you will be displaced. In my case, it was 2 1/2 months later before my displacement. (this was actually really stressful as you have no idea when the axe will come down.) You then get 60 days working/non-working. (this depends on your situation) And then severance begins. During the 60 days, you have all of your benefits, including 401K contribution. When severence begins, you can no longer contribute to your 401K, but you get everything else. And, your benefits will end at the end of your last month. For example, if your severence ends on Jan. 2nd, your benifits continue through January 31st.
