Many people have an option to exit or get demoted, and those people were given 48 hours to choose. Thus more exits may happen, but initiated by conversations that happened on Tuesday.

If you have hung on in hope, and been demoted, it is time to snap. Polish your resume, if you haven't search for jobs, hire a headhunter. They are pushing you out demoting you. You need to jump.
Are demotion conversations over as well, likely to have happened earlier this week?
