Hearing in early September some drastic benefits changes will be announced. Including reduced 401K match & changes in PTO allowances. Big bummer as the 401K match is truly the only executional benefit we receive.

@206 increased spell solar partner coverage and dependent eligibility review. Life insurance coverage transition from two times base salary to one times base salary
We just got the information in email today. This is correct. Along with other things as well.
If the PTO allowance decreases then I'm going back to the hospital. It's already annoying that you can't bank as much PTO as wanted for future vacations. Also annoying there is no PTO cash out options.
I don't need proof, as quite a few things, I've read here first, have already happened.
Sources cannot be given for obvious reasons. Just be glad there is a leak and that your confirmation will be provided in a few weeks.
@ar
PTO should’ve an option built in for buyout, but there is a good and cynical reason companies don’t pay cash or partial cash for PTO.
Some reasons make sense on paper, but having the option would be the grown-up thing.
Even if most people still took time off, some might prefer:
• Paying off debt instead of sipping piña coladas.
• Investing it instead of investing in sunburn.
• Covering emergencies without draining savings.
It’s basically like telling employees: “We trust you to choose between a beach chair and a bigger paycheck.”
Unfortunately, most companies still think employees can’t be trusted with scissors, let alone their own benefits.
@a7 I am hearing similar comments and do not know who babysits whose dog. Some people know things that are not able to provide the source. All I know is the last time we had benefit restructures it was not for the better.
@a8 many of us lost 80 hours of PTO the last time they may changes. We used to be able to carry up to 304 hours then it was changed to 224. we had to either scramble to use 80 hours within one year or we lost it. I know that sounds like a sad problem to have but when you’ve been here for more than 10 years, you earn over eight hours per paycheck. Sometimes that is hard to use, especially with the workload.
@a7 Don't worry, you'll get proof soon enough.
Anyone who knows details, please keep posting. Agree. Humana's 401K matching is a hidden gem of benefits. PTO is generous for associates with seniority. Not surprised if they want to reduce these.
Unless you are in the “know” for compensation and benefits, not the “my brothers dog sitters uncle” kind of way, then this is irresponsible to post.
“Hearing” is not good enough.
Where did you hear this from
