Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Useful info on layoffs

Indicator for your org is usually the all-hands, it is typically scheduled after lay-off rounds are complete. They are never truly complete though, but may be paused for 6 months, a year if you are lucky.

For instance, Chris' all-hands in Fusion is second week of October with universal agreement that firings will start on September 2nd, so they will go for 5 weeks.

Oracle top management wants to send this message to all employees: “No employee is safe from layoffs “.

This is to increase anxiety and job performance among employees

I hate posts like this. All hands calls happen regardless of RIFs. This is purely speculation and it’s not correct info.

What you’re saying is confusing. Is Chris’ all hands already scheduled or not? If it is, how can you say layoffs will start Sept. 2nd?

the all hands moved later to October 2nd week, which is an indirect confirmation of rumor about lay off rounds starting September 2nd.
I gave that reply in the context of a totally different narrow question how one can know if layoffs in their org are complete. I pointed out, that they usually end before all-hands and especially it's true if all-hands is pushed to a later date than usual.
