Mental torture

That is exactly what this feels like. They are letting us wait this long, making us stress, worry, and think about our livelihoods potentially disappearing next week every hour of every day. Why would they prolong it like this? Can anyone give me a real reason besides simply wanting to torture us?

Headspace jobs matter too guys! If you aren't ready to stroke out, or blow an artery out, then you really aren't getting outside your comfort zone! Having high stress and burn out is what makes the hungry humble hustle swag mindset! #culture #OneEDJ

@a5 are you a TL? What if they drop the DL role/person and now you report to Director. Hopefully the Director is not the same as your DL.

@a5 - what are some of the hints you are seeing in the way future meetings are setup?

@a5 It feels like some DLs will be affected, some have only 0-3 direct reports. So, I doubt this is true across the board.

Typically when companies take this long, it is because they are scraping at the edge of legal and illegal. I guarantee you that the names of individuals are known at the DL layers. I have already noticed subtle hints of this for later future meetings that have been set up AFTER this will occur. I believe some affected leaders have already been tipped off about their jobs also.

When it all comes down to it, would you really want to work for a company like this? Guarantee you that 99% will say no. They have mentally tortured you for a year already, saying that this is coming. Many, including myself have not purchased anything big and we even canceled travel plans this year. Those subtle hints I was telling you about - I know I'm on their hit list and fully prepared. I never liked our DL and I know he never liked me either. He's a complete a--hole. When it does come to me next week, I won't be happy about it, but it certainly won't wreck me and I'll be better off in the end finding work elsewhere. You have to think of it in those terms.

I’m a new mother who just had an infant, and my entire household depends on me because I’m the highest earner in my family. If I’m cut, my baby would suffer from having a stressed mother not able to give her attention due to being busy with job hunting to raise a family. Not to mention how bad the job market is now. But do they really care? We are all at risk of paying the price for PP’s bad decision making, while she won’t suffer any consequences.

To get additional folks to leave in my opinion. It saves them the ISP benefits and all that.
