Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

What's going on with CPS RTO?

I have several coworkers who I have never actually seen in the office, save for maybe once or twice in a few months. What's with this straight-up refusal to come into the office? And yes, I get it - I hate the in-office requirement too (especially in the Plaza, no one even interacts or talks with each other so what's the point?) How are some people getting away with refusing to come in, do they just not care about their jobs at all?

Also, it's quite upsetting that customer service reps, who do a downgraded version of our job basically, are completely remote.

There is a difference between USB Bank and Elavon. The name says it all Elavon is not a bank. The bank’s have federal requirements. And yes Elavon starting pay is $20.00 a hr and they give 2% annual raises. The reason Elavon has gone to sh-t is because it is ran by clueless Banking Reps that don’t have a clue. The bank’s leadership is what has failed Elavon.

I don’t understand how “everyone” is expected to be in office but my brother & I are coded as fully remote. We work in separate departments & there’s been no talk of RTO & we both live about 15 min from a hub. Matter of face they just ordered me a 3rd monitor & replaced my printer

"HR makes the decision to lay off people that aren’t returning to office? Where did you hear HR has been given this power and not the head of the division or CEO making these RTO decisions? I never heard HR having people to decide who gets layoff"

They don't decide but "advise" the head of the division etc. on identifying those who have not met the RTO goals.

Word from the grapevine is they are going after those who are refusing to come in after being assigned as Hybrid. It is not up to your manager or the leadership line anymore. HR only looks at the badge swipes count on Workday. If you are at a zero then expect to be a part of the next round of layoffs.

@d9 I’m an AC, not an RM. I get the parking thing - but it’s about more than just parking, there is obvious favoritism going on with certain folks and with so many people not complying with the requirements those of us who do are left wondering what the future looks like for RTO. Do you expect less flexibility or more?

You sound like you’re probably an RM. I get it. But customer service reps also probsbly make 1/2 of what you do. While I get it’s a slippery slope saying what annual earnings should and shouldn’t come in, the reality is for those that need to drive in, parking is a much larger % of their pay. Let’s give them a break. They’re probably some of the lowest paid jobs.

That said, I expect it to change soon given Runkel was the one that pushed RTO to begin with and there’s increased focus on it now.

@b7
Then why do you go in, if everyone had the guts to do what your coworkers do then they couldn't do anything but they say jump and you say how high. Not sure if you know it but we out number them.

I just don’t go in. My manager doesn’t care so let them come get me.

That’s cool, but I know some of my coworkers without accommodations are still not coming into the office. It doesn’t make sense.

You can get a medically related accommodation approved for 12 months. Thankfully my manager and her manager understood the necessity and approved.

They may have a request in with HR. Someone can correct me if I am wrong but your VP can approve up to 6 moths of wfh and HR has to approve over that.
