(AI) First getting rid of most employees

They let everyone go, especially acquired like hMF, keeping sales teams but no one to patch or support the products. EMEA will now become India only (eventually), US is just Canada.

Justifying the cost being saved by getting unskilled people in India (replacing the existing) to submit canned responses, knowing customers won't be able to immediately migrate to alternative or seek damages on SLA.

Probably going to fail miserably with this all talk with his own talkshow CEO. Talking about AI, creating a snowy mascot to hop on stage but not actually giving his employees the tools.

With all the diversity promoted, where is your Indian AI mascot?

At least we all got some AI experience as we were filling in those lead to nowhere Career Week forms, another true example to this company being all for show, fake new procedures and hard on it's hard working employees for nothing.

"Better together" never made sense, not when you are forced to commute 2 hours to an empty office, only to conference with 3 other regions who need to do the same.

Good luck to the few left to train their replacements.

We have a couple team members who go into the office and the background noise in the open office layout is so loud that it is disruptive on concalls. There are private rooms, but sales gets first crack at them.

Been commuting for team calls, so far for impact on the environment.
My whole team is remote and they were in US and UK. I am the only one who is not remote and from Canada. What would I do going into office apart from attending teams calls from my laptop. I told my manager , she was like I cannot do anything. I also asked her can you guys convert me to virtual - she said someone from top should approve and they will not. I am in OT for almost 3.5 years, and I stopped going into office since last year. But now after the latest RTO email - she was telling me I should go into office otherwise they will terminate me. I think this is the time I should start looking for a new job now that they've terminated US and UK.

You've touched a point there with the RTO making no sense.

We had colleagues traveling 13 hours a day or living apart from their family most of the week just to be at the office with no one to engage apart from their team on the other side of the world.

I had to drop a customer call I was on since early morning and travel to the office, apologizing once I was back and barely able to hear anything over the loud office noise.

But at least I was at the office.

hMF here. First warning sign, that damned book. Second was a marching band leading him in. Third and final was the Elvis impersonator in vegas. Glad I GTFO soon afterwords.

Su-ks to be laid off. Better jobs are out there.

Hahaha
My coworker was laid off last year but he was actually tried reading the book Mark wrote like it's some profound knowledge and trying to engage seriously in all these talks and Career Week aspirations, when there was never any follow up with his requests. They Career Weeked him eventually, and now he lucked at a better place.

Waiting to see if I'll make the cut, but probably won't last long with this nonsense making the job of +4 people.

Thank you for not ruining my Easter though, letting me search for a new place while still enjoying our CEO word jumble.
