If everyone could explain in ONE WORD what made you lose your hope or joy at WF, what would it be?
RTO? Chuckie? Money? Titles?

@1nqc+1iaQUHjL Yes, she did. She lied and betrayed me and my fellow team members because she said she had our backs when it came to performance reviews. So it turns out she is no particular friend. That's OK, I didn't come to work at Wells Fargo to make friends, I came there to make money. I left with a large cash balance plan, a nice 401K and paid out vacation. No regrets. I understand others have left since I did for similar reasons. Tenured employees with deep knowledge and history on how things work and why certain decisions were made. Vanished in a flash because I deleted all my notes, project documents and other "how to" folders the day I turned off my PC.
Your manager lied to you.

I am left with the clear impression, now that I have been out of WF for a few months, that WF management is inept, incompetent, and corrupt, floating along to milk the system for as much as they and their friends can get. The direct reports and team pay the price. Total abuse.
Another vote for open floor plan. Before that, it was tolerable. Not great, but at least I could put on my noise blockers, put my head down, and get my work done during the workday.
Once they crammed us in cheek to cheek all was great for the people who came to work to socialize. For the rest of us, not so much. Luckily, I was able to move on fairly quickly after that.

The counting skills of Dept. of Labor, including every pizza delivery job shortage as (1) tech developer and (2) analyst.
Sharing technology with (a) highly skilled, (b) best of the best, (c) cream of crop, H1-B workers. Why? and Why does it take so freaking long to transfer knowledge they have already copied onto their resume??

two words Morally Corrupt. Example: Having someone shake their fists in your face, tell you they are not cooperating with your investigation and to go F off. Then reporting you as the aggressor. Then have your manager ask, "what did you say to make them do that?" Like asking a victim of domestic abuse, "what did you say, what were you wearing?"
You can't make this stuff up.
Team Member (sorry two words and makes little Charlie feel like he is in cult.)
Reminds him of his junior high days when he was beaten up every day at the all boy private school he attended.

And you are still posting here. Talk about self-flagellation.

Returning to the office so I could use the stapler and copy machine and have small weather talk with others then walk to my cubicle and Skype with my actual coworkers in other states all in the name of collaboration. Wooooo

Limiting the reason to One Word is impossible. There is so much wrong with this company. Declining culture that no longer appreciates and rewards top performance, no clear direction, a revolving door of so called leaders who have no idea how to maintain or build teams and work in cohesively with other leaders and their respective departments to accomplish common goals,, the outright abandonment of the “People as a Competitive Advantage” philosophy, the feckless and failed senior leadership, forced RTO to drive attrition and the never ending DE&I propaganda shoved down our throats. I got out of this place as soon as I was able to and never felt better.
