Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

2 d*mn percent. I’m done.

ASM here, I got back off a vacation today to find out that I got a glorious raise of 2%. Like, WTF? I took an ASM promotion back in October, and was told my raise this year would be based on performance as a rep (was trending for Summit when I accepted), and then KABAMM my area manager decided to stick it to me with an adjusted down raise because my store (which I was in for 10 weeks of 2021) has been trash for like as long as I’ve been with the company.

I didn’t sign up for this garbage, and I was already tenured long enough to be pay capped as a rep (+cost of living raises) so today I said f it and am going to take the meager pay bump they gave me back to being a Monday thru Friday opening shift rep who goes to Summit.

This is why they can’t get good managers. They lure the top reps into leadership positions then dump all over them.

If you aren't high in your TSR then you must not be a valued performer

HA! 2% your supervisor hosed you. Your money was giving to someone else. Comp loaded everyone with 3.5%-4% and your supervisor adjusted once loaded.

And yet, HR says pay is competitive in the market place. What a joke! It isn't even competitive internally.

Corporate has its own issues. I’ve been with T almost 12 years and the constant mergers and re-orgs are enough to make you seasick. They are bringing in boatloads of offshore/outsourced people who have no experience in the software being used and more and more of that ‘foreign culture’ is pervasive up to Director levels. No matter if you give 100-200-300 percent, it either gets lost in the shuffle or shrugged off. They talk Agile but still deep in the Command and Control ideology. I’m looking elsewhere…

Yes frustrating - but you received a raise to go from RSC to ASM plus your at risk likely increased only 4 months ago. So let’s be honest - you thought AT&T was gonna give you more? Your efforts as an RSC were rewarded by being promoted to ASM.

Next step, PIP. Low pay raise exposes you to mandatory performance improvement by your manager. Start looking for employment elsewhere now, before you are forced to.

Inflation last year was 7.5% which remains, probably higher by now.
A 2% pay increase means your purchasing power has decreased by over 5%.
