It seems that layoffs are not on the radar currently, so we should be safe for the foreseeable future, right?

Forecast demand is drying up quickly in aerospace defense. Your experience may vary.
Honeywell has dozens of businesses in it's portfolio. Many of them may be performing well and won't be having layoffs.
At any given time there may be a handful of them that aren't meeting the financial goals. Those companies along with the previously mentioned plant closures due to the ongoing rooftop consolidations are likely going to have layoffs.
No layoffs but plant shutdowns are still eminent and that translates to a massive layoff.
Unless I'm missing something.
