Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Give them a better training!

This place is really frustrating. Can't Sam's provide a little better training for new hires? I have empathy for those people who are literally lost, they need a job but they don't know how to do the work, they don't understand what their responsibilities are, etc.

However, Sam's can't expect the rest of us to do the work for them. And all this company needs is to provide them with better training. I would love to help some of them but it is simply impossible because I am overwhelmed.

the good associates that work hard & do a good job are too busy running all over the club to train new hires. so you either learn as you go or get trained on how to slack by the poor associate.

If the lead trains them they show them the correct way, then the "long term" associate cries because "we don't have time to do it the right way". Then cries to the lead that the new associate is too slow, so cut out the middle man, train them the way you want them to work and stop crying.

That's the team lead's job!

I always expect the people who will be working with the associate to train them. Train them to be the person you want to work beside or don't train them and cry about them not knowing what they're doing.

There are plenty of experienced people that could help train new hires. But for them it’s easier to complain that the new people suck. The excuse of it not being their job to train new people is also old. You can’t help people who won’t help themselves.
