Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I predict your raise is fully adjusted for inflation!

You heard it.
Take your last raise and adjust it for CPI.. honeywell cares.
Lets see you got 2.3 percent last year.
That was $64.85 every paycheck extra.

Adjust for inflation and 1.07 we are happy to give 2.461 percent as your raise for 2022
Last year after taxes you got $64.85 extra in every paycheck.
Thiiiis year we will tack on $76 extra every paycheck.
right into your pocket. Inflation buster!

(Nominal 97751.71 year 1 salary, 100k y2 , 25% tax )

The problem with the wage stagnation idea as and inflation drives prices higher, but Uncle Sam collects the same amount of taxes. Uncle Sam is NEVER content with stagnation or decrease of tax (theft) money.

I don't know what @OP was on ...
but thank you for that link to the FDR speech.
That was a good read. every now and then I learn something on this site.
FDR's plan was clear.

First, we must, through heavier taxes, keep personal and corporate profits at a low reasonable rate.
Second, we must fix ceilings on prices and rents.
Third, we must stabilize wages.
Fourth, we must stabilize farm prices.
Fifth, we must put more billions into War Bonds.
Sixth, we must ration all essential commodities, which are scarce.
Seventh, we must discourage installment buying, and encourage paying off debts and mortgages.

Not easy to understand but I think you are probably correct. don't expect raises any different than last year. It is possible the government is asking large corps to stop the wage spiral.

It would not take much for current leaders to be tempted toward fighting inflation with the same heavy hand that was done in WWII. They could characterize COVID as a war and invoke the words FDR used in his Fireside chat #21. (truly inspirational speeches)

But there is one front and one battle where everyone in the United States -- every man, woman, and child -- is in action, and will be privileged to remain in action throughout this war. That front is right here at home, in our daily lives, (and) in our daily tasks. Here at home everyone will have the privilege of making whatever self-denial is necessary,

These sacrifices ...
I can imagine the White house picks up the phone and calls the CEOs with a single message "Wages stay flat".
Then government starts writing the taxes..
they need to claw back all 6 trillion of that stimulus.
Tried and true plan.
