I do agree that it sounds out there, but something doesn’t feel right. I’ve lived through another situation where one firm was quietly making plans to takeover my firm for years. We couldn’t see what was happening at the time, but it all made sense once the news broke. The executives had no problem making bold highly questionable moves and then lying about the strategy behind them.
Red flags here: an influx of JPM executives in our highest executive roles, selling off assets, cutting costs by any measure, an utter disregard for employee morale, no talk about long -term plans.
Anyone remember TWA with Carl Icahn? Icahn became known for his short-term gain thinking. He made false promises about wanting to help the airline to grow. But it eventually became clear that Icahn was not interested in growing the airline, and was instead using TWA as a financial vehicle to acquire wealth for himself.
I may not be accurately pinpointing the end goal. But I am saying that one and one is not adding up to two. Mark my words.
