Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

T once again finds newer and better ways to ream its cusomers

https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2021-05-18/att-late-fees

Relevant points:

  • T is shortening it's reminder notices from five days to three days before a payment is due
  • T is imposing an undisclosed 'convenience' fee if a customer wants to pay over the phone
  • T is imposing an undisclosed 'reconnection' fee for temporarily suspended accounts
  • T has a $5 payment fee if a customer pays in a store without using the kiosk

As the article says, 'AT&T suddenly looks like it’s scrounging for cash after coming up short in its aspirations to be a Hollywood player.'

I guess Stink ran out of ways to fleece the employees, so he's now going after the customers. What a great mind for business!

Just set up autopay or pay your bill on time. If you're routinely paying your bill late then your "due date" is 3 or 5 days after what is printed on your bill. After that - it's late anyway.

You're so tough on the internet. Cry me a river.

Why does T need to send out a "Payment reminder" in the first place? Why does any company? They don't need to. You should be responsible enough to know when a bill is due.

Mic drop.

@1agh+1b4V1hx0: are you really as stoopid as you come off, or are you just trolling? This isn't about allowing customer to pay late. This is about T rigging the system so customers are more likely to pay late.

Providing a payment reminder 3 days before it's due almost ensures a late payment ... particularly for those elderly people who still mail in checks. Thanks to the last president, the USPS now takes much longer so a 3-day reminder means that payment will be late. So ... why did T change their reminder from 5 days to 3? Because they knew it would result in more late payments.

Fugging get over your T worship you repulsive piece of mierda. A company that changes policy to increase penalties, add hidden 'convenience' fees and all that are doing it to fleece their customers. The fact you can't see that means you're as big a pile of worthless ex------t as Stink.

They are calling retirees and attempting to sell their overpriced junk.
NO THANKS!
I get a much better deal with the competition, better service, better price, better English speaking support.
Nope. Don't want at&P-155.

Most would think that investment into premium products and services will boost revenue. This is the company where implementing sneaky fees is a strategic initiative.

And I bet, when asked, they will say that these moves that to stay competitive while other companies have implemented no junk fees. That is right, very competitive at dissing customers, way to go!
