Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T IHX

IHX is a newly developed (within the past year and half) sales channel that has management level sellers dispatched to jobs where VOIP, Internet, Uverse, and it DIRECTV being installed. They will show up to sub contractor jobs, in house, any one of them. They get dispatched to jobs where the customer has a competing wireless provider. The goal is to educate the customer, set up apps and most importantly sell wireless service to those customers with exclusive offers.

Done right it’s a great experience for the customer, technician and seller. Done wrong it’s a nightmare.

1) IHX started over 3 years ago in many areas
2) most of the ISManagers are ARSM that got demoted or High Performing Store Managers in my area
3) Every in home rep i know hates it. They keep asking me to help them get out, even the ones doing well.
4) if a business rep can’t get a car but IHX reps have cars that’s a problem.
5) business reps can’t go see customers but still have full quotas when IHX still goes to peoples home during Covid. Tell me how that makes sense?
6) IHX is a salaried position that makes same a a Union store rep and they can get OT
7) only way I would even consider IHX is being a manager or director.

I want to know how these jobs are supposed to be considered “essential”.

The heck is this, an ad for the job?? It’s a throwaway position for most. I’ve seen so many come and go, it’s just that bad! Only the ones that came from stores originally seem to be able hack it.

Don’t be fooled. I would never recommend that job to anybody. That job is for nobody!

IHX should not be cold calling customers when they order new service, or need repair service. They never agreed to it, and it is deceptive . I always tell the customer, particularly if elderly, that someone may come and try to sell them something. You don’t have to let them in, and you don’t have to purchase anything from them.

@1zpa+16ls4YCM and similar posts - you're describing the same sort of selling Wlls Frgo was doing that got them so much into trouble.

I had ATT but cancelled everything either for better pricing or better quality of service. I feel for the average person who works there - this "stuff" flows downward from the top.

“ Guys, I had an IHX rep in Georgia who would come to my jobs and was a great kid who believed in what he was doing and made sales and I put him on sales, therefore putting money in my pocket as well, I could call him and depend on his experience to do what is right for our customers! This can be a great program for all involved if it’s done effectively.”

So what he die of??

“ So our customers are getting harassed and upsold at their own house when all they want is their tv installed. It’s like when you take your car to the dealer for the 19.95 oil change and they end up finding 1,000 $ worth of work to do”

Eagerly anticipating the lawsuit that ends it all!

I work IHX and we are told to open accounts. Add stuff. Our ISM asks us to add lines to our account when numbers are low. It’s a joke. Complete joke. I’ve been in telecommunications and sales for 10 years. This is a authorized retailer joke.

Its ok if they register the gateway. If they can’t get the pin from the customer, don’t give it to them. Do it yourself and tell them they are not authorized. Who cares if they get upset. That's the way it is.

I tell my customers to call the police - I say that this guy has been been stalking us Techs for weeks and we don't know why.

An IHX employee showed at a job I was working and we started talking. He told me and I quote, “This is the sleaziest job I have ever had”.

They always show up at the wrong moments acting like their tech supervisors in front of customers while we are trying to troubleshoot issues. They need to show up AFTER the tech closed the ticket..
