We’re an agile company that’s spent millions on a digital transformation, but we can’t deploy a simple job posting tool to handle our own layoffs. So, all of us will be browsing a 10,000 row Sharepoint list tomorrow morning to find our jobs. If that doesn’t work, I hear they are just going to print the postings on dot matrix paper and mail it to us. #Winning #GoDigital

Anyone else having issues with the SharePoint site today? I keep getting a status_breakpoint error. Very frustrating!
How fitting. A "digital" tool for a "digital" company in striving "digital initiatives" fails.
Whoever created the PowerBI report with round 4 jobs should be promoted to CIO immediately.
There's a rather apt anglo-saxon word that sums up Chevron "Boring"
Chevron is not exactly an innovative company now is it? How do expect a culture based on not taking risks ever coming up with new things to be innovative. Sticking your neck out is frowned upon and "yes " people validated. duh. There may a be few pockets of innovation but for the most part the employees are really about the status quo, What's the worst that can go wrong LPSA can't breed innovation. So lets stop convincing ourselves we are even close the cutting edge of innovation. Fast follower indeed
There is a Power BI report that is a heck of a lot easier to look at the jobs. I don’t have the link handy, but perhaps others on this forum do and can post it?
Let's be honest, the company wants to "align and inspire," yet the people involved in the process arent even able to align on the nomenclature associated to the location.
If you can't make an excel export work for you then maybe you should fear for your job...
Our system would be substantially better if they stopped laying off the IT people that designed the system.
The usual mind numbing "search" tool as always at Chevron drilling down takes at least half a day just to get anywhere. I gave up after 2 hours of trying to fight my way thru this piece of schitt. I looked for all position under my supervisor and could not find any. Who are these clowns who designed this POS
That’s why a reorg is needed.....
Could we have used successfactors?
Even Microsoft has better tools for this scenario of looking at jobs. They could at least make multiple lists to improve response time since very few people will be cross posting but I’m guessing someone is trying to prove a point about the Modern List functionality limits. Watch it crash and be down all day but Round 4 will not be extended a single hour.
Great observation. That CTO tool must not be up to the task yet. The message was clear today in the info session. Don’t bother meeting with job owners. You won’t get chosen unless you already know the guy/gal. That means most jobs are sealed. It makes sense. They aren’t going to waste much time picking. Go after the birds with a broken wing. It’s your only shot.
LOL. Microsoft can’t even make a file search engine worth sh*t for their flagship windows app, why would Chevron expect them to handle specialized list functions any better. You all got in bed with the wrong hottie! I hear IBM is also teaming with Delphi ... and more to follow (orical). Dead mules never win the race.
Job Posting functionally is currently in the Workday backlog. With a lot of grooming and a little bit of luck, it will be ready for the next reorg in 4 years.
How much did we spend again on that P.O.S Workday tool? If it can't handle this, what's the whole point?
