1) My HR person made a big deal about using the EAP. Others said the same happened to them. Are they worried about something? Have they staffed up the EAP?
2) I was told in writing that I will not get my severance agreement til sometime next week AND will only have 50ish days to look at it. Not that I'm going to spend much time on it...already interviewing, but WTF? These things are electronic,
3) Was told to not even bother calling the HR line for the next month or so if I could avoid it. What, are they also too cheap to hire phone bots?
Finally...no outplacement until you sign the severance and they receive it. This means many folks are going to spend 3-4 weeks without any "help". Some of these guys I worked with who are now laid off never worked anywhere else or had to fashion an outside resume.
When my spouse was laid off at another company, they had them in outplacement the following week. Kept up spirits, camaraderie (tho these days I assume outplacement is Zoom-pbased...)
