Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

COBC Violation

Yesterday, I was sent an email with over 15 points of Covid-19 dos and don'ts for AT&T properties. Including wearing a mask, don't socialize in break rooms, wash your hands, clean your desk before, during and after work periods, don't go to any manager desk area and several other points.

The last point was if you see anyone violating these points, it is your responsibility to report the violator to management or the EH&S.

I then received a call from a member of management to read same email to me and at the end of the call I was told, "So now you are covered, this will be considered a violation of the COBC and could lead to a level of discipline, up to and including termination. Do I have your commitment to adhere to these new polices?"

I did work in a CLG call center, currently WFH. But I thought what cheek! Next week I guess it will be delivered via ACT training as a reminder. We are bleeding customers and the company looking for ways to be able to discipline you for not following covid guidelines!!!

It is just another mechanism for them to have an excuse to fire you. I guarantee you that you are on the chopping block consideration list. I've seen this too many times in various locations at T( east to west) for it to be a one off thing. It's systematic and one of the reasons that T will go down.

Only here would there be people angry and complaining about policies to try and help ensure as safe a work environment as possible.

Maybe all you id–t covid deniers should go to an empty state, like Wyoming, and gather in groups without masks. That way, when you get sick and end up in a body bag you don't take any real people with you.

Oh, and since you don't believe in the virus it goes without saying that you get NO medical help or any public funding.

At least this way we can get rid of the id–ts, conservatives, and racists who follow the president and refuse to wear masks. And no, you will not be missed. Your demise will be celebrated

What's the big deal?

Put on a frigging mask, spray your self with Clorox, wash your filthy hands after slaying the 3rd floor bathroom, have the Police song "Don't Stand so Close to me" on loop on your iPod and go about your day.

  1. S. - don't lick any doorknobs.
  1. P.S. - don't eat the donuts from the break room community box.

You'll be fine.

When not following policy becomes the norm, that new norm becomes the policy.

This company is bleeding customers because no one here knows how to actually run a business. Instead leadership envisions themselves as super law enforcers vigilantly watching over their rebellious workforce for any violation of rules or deviation from corporate groupthink.

This is how you run a communist dictatorship, not a successful twenty first century business!

Don't socialize in break rooms? Humans are social beings, and we have a need to socialize.
