New hire already called out

We had a girl on her 2nd day call out and say she couldn't work weekends because of childcare. When she went through the hiring process she never said she couldn't work weekends, she was able to work any day any time. She isn't the 1st to pull this... — read more

People are ashamed because they work here

It wasn’t always like that, but now I’m ashamed to work at Sam’s. I am almost certain that there are many more who prefer to keep quiet about where they work? This company has become one big shame. I think its reputation, as bad as it is, is much... — read more

What makes the foundation of a good club?

I hate to say it but my club leaves a lot to be desired and I wish things could be better. I’m yet to see anyone compliment their own club (or another) and it makes me feel like we’re all in the same boat. My question here is are there any clubs that... — read more

Damned if you do

At my club we have members with high expectations and management whose expectations are even higher. I’ve tried balancing both - which can sometimes be in direct opposition of each other. It doesn’t really work out well if you are a people pleaser... — read more

Communication = zero

Well there you have it. If anyone thinks our management will tell us, well dream on. There is zero communication in our club. It is a fly by the seat of your pants operation or better yet, a need to know operation. Ridiculous. I just gave a new... — read more

Happy to say “no”

A little piece of hatred

Has anyone who leaves reached a point where they’ve tried to let go of any animosity towards their club but in the end there is still a part of them that hates the company? I’ve been gone for a few weeks and I have to say that just thinking of all... — read more

Hiring people who are 17

So I always thought you had to be 18 to work at Sam's. We have a new associate who is 17. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against young people, however she cannot be on a register and of course cannot sell alcohol. Thoughts? Is this a new thing... — read more

Best incentive out there for members and associates alike. I am going to guess they will be back in the Café by September or late August.

Newbies setting new records

It has happened before, that new people come here and stay very short. Lately, however, this has gone up a whole new level. People who come here do not stay even a week in this company. Literally, new records are constantly being set for how short... — read more

Too big to fail?

That would be great if it was true, but I'm afraid it's not and Sam's is slowly falling apart. It’s getting harder to work here every day. Why do some think this troubled company is too big to fail? I would like someone to convince me of that, with... — read more

Why don't they care about reputation?

It is interesting to me that those at the top are not doing anything to improve the reputation of this company. I wonder how many years it would take to repair its reputation, because now it seems to me that this is a hopeless case? That is... — read more
