Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

FY20 Q2 Build Town Hall

What a stupid meeting, Sales meeting. We don't care about the sales bull c-ap. We care what's going to happen to current employee's. We care what Digital Transformation really means, since all Computers are Digital. What I heard in the meeting "Digital Transformation" is the same thing we were doing 40 years ago, modernizing process flow with the help of computer systems, so this is nothing new

Robotic process automation - isn't that what they did in the 1970's at car building factories to raise production?

But now instead of writing scripts to connect to some API on a back-end system, the bl00dy thing watches you do the job first online in your GUI and then repeats what you just did and can log in to all the other systems you can and then copy the same information you copied and raises the forms you just raised to the point where you don't even have to be there for your appraisal now.

It doesn't need a lunch break or any sleep and does the work of 3 people, but as most DXC staff do the work of 10 people (or 11 people someone said this week), then it has still a way to go.

To the discussion on Robotics - They are talking about RPA - Robotic Process Automation and I suspect its more to the automation of certain ticketing and rerouting stuff. And DXC Service Desk so efficient (NOT!)

Robotic Process Automation, Wow more bullcr*p

DXC has zero credibility. Any organization that does due diligence will see that as they compare DXC to Accenture and others. DXC is relegated to only try to earn business from clients that already have a DXC contract. DXC has zero chance in convincing NEW clients to use them as compared to the competition. That's why DXC sales revenue is stuck in the mud. And, for those existing DXC clients, they will squeeze DXC for lower prices for DXC to keep their business and although Mikey tells the analysts that the savings we grant them will be applied to additional business in "digital" is all BS. These clients take the savings and apply their savings to invest in other solution WITHOUT ANY DXC involvement.
By now, people should realize that. The data speaks for itself. If you are representing SALES within DXC, you are in a losing game. The best organization to be within DXC for job security is HR since they have a ton of work in laying people off.

@10DYNPed-lwp AI you mean programming, AI and programming are NOT the same thing .

A more elaborate definition characterizes AI as “a system’s ability to correctly interpret external data, to learn from such data, and to use those "learning" to achieve specific goals and tasks through "flexible" adaptation.

Why do planes need Robotics anyway where in fact most of the time the planes are flown automatically anyway by computers in the plane - may see more AI being added to planes but that's all no robotics are needed.

Unless DXC is starting producing robots on the plane instead of cabin crew that can serve wine and cut ting steaks up.

Rather tired by the terminology of Digital this Digital that - since Computers have been digital since the Second WW2 and transformations is simply a revised / improved process / transferring data from A -> B which has always been in minds of Digital Engineers since the innovation of Computers

I saw in the comments about DXC showing an Airplane with robotics. Now is NOT the time with all the grounding of Boeing planes. Does anyone preview what they are showing.

#ISeeDXC I woke up at 5:30 AM for this bull c-ap meeting. The questions they answered were submitted by fake questions. No response to Work Force reductions.

These town halls can turn into potential drinking games. Every time you hear the word "digital", you take a sip. You'll be drunk within the hour.
