Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Layoff Announced - Finance/Accounting

Oklahoma City took the biggest hit. Anyone know the numbers?
What other locations were impacted?

Who needs finance and accounting experts anyways? We have senior HR directors with a degree in exercise.
Just hire a low performer who specializes in basket weaving and plug them into that position. lol
Add-none for the win

@z6 that is what strikes me the most. Senior management talks, operates and earns compensation as if Hertz were Apple or Amazon yet the rest of the company is a complete train wreck. At this point I believe the Board is just extracting any remaining value and piping that off senior leaders with back hand deals. No other way to explain it.

Nothing makes sense in the company because it’s a toxic work environment in every department. Now is the time to put your job applications in.
The company has money to blow on unnecessary leadership positions rather than the people who are actually on the ground at the locations-if any of this surprises you, then you should remove your blinders.

This doesn't make sense how they are cutting in Finance when they also have about 8 positions posted in Finance... But then again its Hertz. Left hand doesn't know what any other appendages are doing.

@e8 How much more can they carve out? I know in the past 5 years we had a lot of people in OKC and a large campus (the building sold to Costco). I feel like they are trying to just close up shop in the OKC area.

This is nothing new for Hertz. Rather than actually fix the problems - how many EVPs are there again? - this company looks to "save" money by cutting low to mid-level employees. Anyone below EVP/SVP is expendable and if you are not formerly with Delta (or a F.O.G.) you are likely the first to go. This "leadership" has shown no regard for tenure, experience, expertise nor the history of what was once a solid company. This shell game cannot continue.

This company treats their employees and customers like cr-p. Hello red flag! This company has ZERO INTEGRITY. Do a simple google search! They didn’t even pay back bond holders from 2020 the promised interest. Why would they be honest otherwise?
They are out for themselves at the top.
Look at the stock price. Cut your losses.

This company is a rotten corpse. All I get is complaints from customers, employees, finance, folks that rent from us. It’s so bad that I no longer wear Hertz shirts off the clock. How many CEOs have walked into Estero promising a bright future only to fail in every metric and walk away with millions? Who in their right mind will want to work here? I’m days away from putting my resignation as a leader from a top 10 airport. Got a sweet package from Sixt, a brand that is growing and will be leading one of their top 5 airports in North America. Friends are now renting from them and nothing but extremely positive experiences at reasonable price points. So long Hertz….what a travesty having to part ways but I need to take charge of my career (and income).

If they examined why certain departments had a huge turnover rate and a competent HR team then there wouldn’t have to be layoffs. People would get terminated for running departments with a high turnover rate.

16 souls wiped out in my area. Zero transition plan. I guess Gil’s flywheel never got speed and stuck in reverse. What an abysmal way to destroy a company!

At least we can continue to pay 6 figures for positions that sit at home.

Low 100s OKC, 40ish in Dublin. Likely a small amount in Estero but # unknown. Not sure if "recovery" means vehicle control or not and there is a small team of them in Estero.
