Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

RTO now November 1

Another two week postponement. It's sort of funny now.

It’s a pandemic, and a NOVEL virus, which means they learn things all the time, so there are never absolutes.

Herd immunity is thought to be 70-75% vaccinated, which isn’t happening with all you anti vaxxers, and will keep changing as you allow this virus to mutate due to your stubborn inaction to protect public health.

Just because you at things over and over like your right wing heroes doesn’t make it true if it’s a lie to begin with. Or just taking part of a quote to make it look the way you want.

If you want truth, talk to health care professionals that actually deal with this. I have, and it will really open your eyes to some truths you obviously haven’t encountered yet.

People in their 30s and 40s are dying, one as young as 24. In a lot of cases, healthy folks except they didn’t get vaccinated. Now they just want to breathe, if they live. If they do live, that lung damage follows them the rest of their lives.

1 in 500 Americans dying is reality, and only because this has been allowed to spread and mutate too long. The worry now is the next mutation may be even worse and winter is coming.

Surrounded by sheep...

Fauci has admitted on national TV he doesn't know answers to two of the most important questions of the outbreak:

  1. why are we vaccinating those with natural immunity?
  1. what is the herd immunity threshold?

Remember Fauci told us not to wear masks?

Almost all of the politicians and celebrities still aren’t wearing them.

The CDC Director is on video stating that studies showed that those vaccinated do not spread Covid or show Covid symptoms. This literally happened approx. 70 days ago. They have changed their tune and they will likely change it again.

Why? Because nearly 80% of adults we’re estimated by the CDC as having “protection”. That’s either through vaccination or natural immunity from having Covid.

Please cut off cnn. I’m not an anti vaxxer. I just want truth. The majority of Covid deaths have occurred within 5 years of the average age for Americans.

"Something. Isn’t. Right."

Indeed. 1 in 500 Americans has died from COVID. Without mask mandates, social distancing guidelines, and vaccinations, this number would be much higher.

"But the vaccine was supposed to be a cure!!! And see -- it's not working!!!" Um, no. Anyone who stayed informed knew it would only lessen the severity of the symptoms and reduce viral load -- meaning we'd still have to wear masks and social distance but we'd have less of chance of being hospitalized.

PS: This is Delta -- much more contagious, and more deadly, than Covid Classic.

Two-thirds of American adults are fully vaccinated as well as over 80% of seniors (most vulnerable). In no scientific text book/process does vaccinating a clear majority of adults & super majority of vulnerables lead to this kind of result.

Something. Isn’t. Right.

Gov’t has been wrong the whole time. Every step of the way. Either that or we keep spreading disinformation about the “risk”. For example, the # between age 0-18 in 2019 that died from the flu equals the # between 0-18 that have died from Covid. #facts you haven’t heard. Pull CDC data on both topics.

I'm certain the rapidly changing environment contributes to the shifting dates, but the company could at least be transparent about what factors are going into the decisions.

I'd rate the company a 2 out of 5 on transparency.

I think it’s obvious that these delays have little to nothing to do with Covid data, and like 95% to do with WF being inept at the logistics and preparedness for RTO. Maybe 5% Biden’s announcement.

Our leaders have too much ego to let us stay working from home. Besides, they see us in restaurants, bars, concerts, football games, vacations……..so why not back to the office.

Many others have already gone back to the office. Can you imagine how that makes our execs feel in country club and resort settings? Do we really want to make our leadership feel that shame? No….let’s go back now!

I don't know why they can't just postpone it until January 2022 and quit it with the monthly updates.

Perhaps our leaders should spend more time fixing regulatory issues and less time dithering about on RTO?

What happens when we return to the office and someone in the general we work in gets Covid? Does the entire floor or building get to quarantine at home for 2-weeks? The neighborhood seating being proposed should make for some challenges trying to figure out who sat where on any given day in order to determine who was most likely exposed to the person who contracted Covid.

One of those dates will hold. I was on a a call with an SLT type and he was saying they did not want to be returning over the end of year holiday period. They want to get people in, let people come and go through the holidays as they always do and then be back and ready for the new year. This delay was to give them time to see what OSHA comes out with on 9/24 in their report.

Even more importantly will we be moving to a hybrid schedule on a permanent basis going forward? And can they please let us know because if not, I’m GTFOH as soon as possible!

Very likely that either a November 1st or a November 15th date will hold.

They are under TREMENDOUS pressure to have RTO happen well enough in advance of year-end so as to allow as much voluntary turnover as possible before the annual 401k match payouts are made.

Financially, the sum total of the 401k match payouts isn't very much money when considered on the scale of this bank. However, the dollar amount is not the point. It's just how these people think.

Also, a November RTO date gives the "leadership" plausible deniability regarding a potential COVID spike. They'll simply blame a wave of new infections on the holidays.

No way are they're going to let RTO be pushed into January.

We need an RTO drinking game: every time the company pushes out the date, down a bottle of Corona.

They might as well forget it until spring. With all the id--ts that refuse to get vaccinated, it is only getting worse this winter.

What is the likelihood that RTO is pushed to December or January? I feel like cases would increase in the winter, no?

Why doesn’t everyone just refuse to return? If enough employees do that, they will be forced to allow more remote work? Also, surveys show minorities and women are less comfortable returning… so isn’t mandatory RTO discriminatory?

What I'd prefer from Operations, when pushing at the date, is at least a vague indication of why. Delays in CPG buildouts? Evaluating the impacts and implementation of the national vaccine/testing mandates? Something. Anything.

Trying to plan in this pandemic will get you burned everytime.

There's still a lot we don't know, we're learning more every day.

And Wells management should know this by now, and any plans for RTO they send out just make them look exactly as smart as we all think they are.

The fact that someone in leadership just can’t make a damn decision with a realistic date, like spring of 2022, just demonstrates the ongoing ineptness of CS and the rest of his clowns.
