EMIT Forum: Oops, no time for Q&A

Oops, they ran out of time to go through a significant number of questions during the Q&A portion. How surprising!

If one were suspicious, one might think that they wanted to reduce the chances for people to get answers to tough questions...

@1jrb+1fS39TZw the snoop team are a bunch of “visionaries”, just like everyone else in EMIT, when what we really need are people that understand the end customer and how to solve business problems using IT. There’s severe shortage of that in the organization, and the precious few that remain who actually do that are lost in the sycophant echo chamber that is EMIT’s career advancement (or lack thereof).

@ex-clinton I know exactly who you're talking about and agree 100%. Those folks are the best part of EMIT.

@xya - good question. The only people in EMIT that I ever found useful were the on-site support team. The people who actually work on your computer to resolve issues.

Funny thing is that they were all contractors and they all hated the EMIT team in Houston (all employees) because they rolled out new policies and security features without telling anyone. Often, these were the root cause of computing issues, because they didn’t account for potential conflicts with the wide range of software used at different sites and offered through the Download Center

With the flurry of all recent external hires in top leadership roles, why is BK still in the role and replaced yet with a competent and knowledgeable external hire to lead EMIT? Matter or time? Or Not happening? #hotshot

@1atd+1fS39TZw such a waste of time. They show have just rewinded and replayed the tape again instead of making it live.

@1sow+1fS39TZw well, did you not see us deliver the Yellow snoop Boston robotics dog? It was awesome, wasn't it? Not sure what's it doing these days. We did dog and a pony show with it and make the photos go viral on LI to show the world how innovative and progressive we are. And now the doggie is no where to be seen. Let's say together with arrogance, #WeAreExxonMobil.

If only EMIT could dedicate time to delivering useful IT products and solutions instead of doing business with itself all the time…

Listened to the p.m. and a.m. forums. Did they even change? So scripted that it was a joke. Let's see what the "awards" entail.

Why does EMIT have so many forums?

"open and healthy dialog" and "L4" should not be in the same sentence.

If you are waiting for forums to wait the tough questions you are missing the point completely. Tough questions can't be properly discussed in a couple of mins. If you have tough questions and genuinely care about the answer and how to help contribute to solving them, bring those to your managers, L4, L3 or L2 and have an open and healthy dialogue around them.
