Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

Performance review

I have heard recently that all those who have "Needs significant improvement" in past 4-5 years will be terminated.

Has anyone heard about this? Like what the fu-k imperial was so understaffed with people working in stress.
This company only looks after the baseline.

@xv couldn't agree more. Ten years ago those YES people would be few and far between. Now its just a bunch of power hungry losers who use the corp jargon like "devils advocate" "not fussed about that" etc.

The Performance Review process is a popularity contest here.
This process has little to do with performance and more to do if your supervisor and peers like you.

Imperial is becoming a YES men/women company. Those who disagree and openly speak up will be put on the chopping block.

I guess they need to have people on NSI for this year, which is why I’m being forced to complete the PDS form even though I’m getting laid off in 2026. Ridiculous!

used to be 3 in 5 years u are gone, now it is 2........so if you have 1 in the last 4 years and u are on NSI again this round, u will get serverance out.

Imperial used to hire for a long term career. It's now a short term transaction, and can end at any time based on a rigged popularity contest. As people are forced out, the ones previously in NI and Good ratings are getting forced down to NSI to meet DW's headcount reduction targets.

Unless you're within a year of retirement, why would people continue to stay? Much better career options out there for most people.

I got an NSI in the last 5-years. The good thing is I left. I am sorry for all who are still in that “trap”. Hope you can make it out of the “trap” too.
