VP quit!

Our VP ..HT.. announced he is leaving. I was told he's an ahole but even he couldn't put up with the bigger ahole that's now his Boss. Yes Sh--Charity managed to scare away even Thakkar. Rumour has it they had a falling out. Pure SH-TSHOW!

The office was a graveyard of dead screens, save for the sickly blue glare of his own.
On the anonymous forum, the text bled a chaotic history of the company’s collapse. First, the VPs had vanished—sanitized corporate emails claimed they left for "family reasons," but the forum whispered of sudden, violent fallouts in locked boardrooms. Then came the new leader. The posts described him not as a man, but as a nightmare: a volatile, perpetually enraged entity demanding absolute submission. “We need results instantly,” the last post read. “It’s a penal colony now. He’s never pleased.”
A cold sweat broke across his neck. Everyone stayed for the money, bound by golden handcuffs while the culture mutated into psychological warfare. But the very last comment, deleted within seconds of posting, hinted at a deeper horror: the reorgs weren't moving people to new departments. They were feeding something.
The HVAC system cut out, plunging the floor into an absolute, suffocating silence.
Then came the sound. The rhythmic, heavy click-clack of dress shoes stepping out of the shadows of the executive wing.
His monitor suddenly flashed red. A forced, automated notification filled the screen: YOUR STATUS REPORT IS OVERDUE.
The fluorescent bulb above him shattered, showering him in glass. In the pitch black, the jagged, furious breathing of the Director filled the cubicle, standing right behind his chair.
He felt a hand—cold, leathery, and entirely too wide—settle heavily onto his shoulder.

@zc I was in banking and it's a lot better. Health care is the worst of the WORST. I am looking again to jump ships before the one sinks. My life boat will be the 6 months of loving expenses, once I hit that target i am outta here, take a mental break and apply..

@yw I’m so sorry you encountered this. I moved from UHC to Optum and it was the same, just narcissists in different bodies. I think this is so common in healthcare and it’s ironic that it’s about health. Glad you are free now.

Unfortunately there is no way to document and report Toxic narcissistic behavior to HR short of HR spending a month working with them and find out the true colors show. I have seen him smile and talk sweet on one call and get on another call and YELL at people or criticize everything they do. I moved to a different team and got an even big loser as director under another narcissist VP. HT was atleast very smart. I finally quit and joined a different industry.. best decision ever. Better pay, better technology, great leadership and no burnout. If you decide to stay after getting abused it's your choice. My advise, take a leap of faith and tryout a different role or job

@w1 yeah but they are oblivious of their actions consequences and how it impacts and lot of time don't care about others feelings. It's only me me me. I I.I. so effectively they are not capable of feeling what others feel or think of them..they can manipulate yes... anyway we have plenty of narcissists in ”leadership” and it's time to bring them down and support the good ones

@vp There bring others is not an excuse to complain about him being called out. So glad these people are courageous enough to do that. The rest should follow suit. Maybe that will bring much needed change. They all need to be told on.

Why's Mr. Thakkar getting so much hate? I mean.. was he a je-k? Yes. Mean? Yes. Ruthless with 0 EQ? Yes but so are so many others , especially the Indian Dir+ above are very aggressive and demanding and demeaning. This trait is is not exclusive to Mr. HT so stop hating only on him.

@sc survival of the meanest.. promotion of the vilest is the theme. That needs to change, we had some great VPs that are kind, actually have empathy and are reasonable in their expectations. Let's support those in surveys, feedback and express gratitude. Let's kick the toxic ones out by being vocal about the sh-t they do.

The folks under HT is no better either, believe me. I worked with them couple years ago and I'd rather drag nails on a chalk board. Glad to be out of HT's org but now S.Chari is here to finish the job of sinking this ship down to the ocean floor before his a-s is fired.

I hope they all quit. Drain the swamp. Save millions and use that money to raise pay of lower grades, bonuses and more tokens. Believe me that will save money and increase productivity more than any nonsense pep talks from there VP who do NOTHING except whine or out of office "offsite/travelling"

Same in our division. VP “quit” after a year at Optum. Said they needed to care for a family member but less than a week after the announcement they announced a new job! Then another VP quit a month later and said they were taking time off. Ok, sounds sus!! And then another VP within weeks of the other two. I’m pretty sure that last one was ushered out… Cause they had been at UHG for years, did a great job, were kind to everyone and a great leader!!! Less than a month later, now a Director is leaving. This in the midst of tenured Senior Director getting RIFed. Now we get two new dudes with long tenures at consulting companies. Ok. I’m not sure what universe I’m in.

@ad SriChari...he reports to Zmuda. He has a history of toxicity and being overbearing and bringing the moral down of the entire team by telling them constantly not much is being done and he wants results instantly. What the fool doesn't realize is if everything is done in a week or month then wtf team's and FTEs exist? And why TF he gets paid so much if everything can be done so quickly and easily. He nor his team is needed then. He ruined the previous team and now has a bigger team to ruin. We are SO glad he left our team, we can finally breathe and focus on long term goals and quality. If you are in his ORG, RUN RUN RUN. Apply to other companies while you are still ahead and not desperate. Do the minimum work and tell Sh--Charito deal with it or you'll report him to HR for intimidation. Given his history your story will be plausible.

@a5 when is she quitting or getting fired? She has COMPLETED ruined the department. Mukesh quit, now HT.. rumor is Sh--Chariis also not happy. She is unbelievable.. the only thing she used to do was send a stupid AI generated newsletter which she stopped after folks complained about it. Please pay us lower grades and fire these useless "though leaders" we have AI now for thought.

@a5 no I meant you. I know HT is UHC Tech because I worked under him for X+ years before I was pushed out after that recent reorg. Though the years, I thought it'll get better but nope it got worse actually. I think it's the age and ego. He is the worst taskmaster there is. He seems angry or upset or displeased ALL the time. His direct reports are no better unfortunately after years of grooming and the legacy continues. I hope they get some one with a semblance of a normal human emotional to replace him for the sake of the team as I might be joining back the team again due to another reorg. What a nightmare!
