@vt Is this really 100% confirmed for 5 days a week all I keep hearing in Everett is rumblings and nothing concrete, my manager is a super corporate pawn she will eat anything up that the EC tells her to do so I do not trust her one bit. I wish they would stop being so vague and just tell us already, once they confirm the 5 and with Boston on horizon I have to look elsewhere. This place has been a burden since we had massive turn over last year and year before with all knowledge departing due to horrible work environment and team work.
@108 Agree that is a terrible situation. However, there are those having exemptions that are not forced wfh. To your point, some of those have friends in high places.
@xd yeah the exceptions being made are by robin and his dou--e bags for their friends. Everyone else is being sc--wed. And sorry but many forced wfh would rather drive in and pay for gas than be fired and lose their careers and salaries because some foreigner in charge decided wfh should be eliminated after they closed offices forcing it. Keep that in mind before you cry about having to go in an extra day. Others are getting fu---d over for more than “wear and tear or gas”.
Totally ridiculous. My team is in 3 other countries. What difference if I am in 3 days or 4 days or 5 days? This is what they want. They lose the extra hours I would work not commuting. They lose any extra I would give. They lose all my knowledge. They don’t care but that’s all I’ve got. A horrible way to wind down a career.
@rp agree it is stressful for everyone. Unfortunately, the reality is that a bias exists between having and not having kids when cuts are being made. I’ve seen it and believe it or not, have been asked.
@vt 5 days a week for managers? Would that be all managers? There are exceptions being made here. It’s ironic that my boss keeps reminds us of swipe and network monitoring while they are fully remote. They also don’t have the benefit of paying for gas, tolls, commuting costs, wear and tear on vehicles like the rest of us.
@sv I can confirm Boston and Everett the 15th I have 3 going from my side in Boston. Also was told middle of June will be announcement for 5 days a week for managers in office. This will start after Labor Day , so be prepared for that too, that will frustrate more employees making them do less and less good work way to motivate staff after that fake town hall!
Boston and Everett starting June 15th
it’s stressful for everyone, not “especially”. It’s stressful for single people supporting themselves with no other income coming into the home from a partner, no matter how small. It’s stressful for those with children, medical bills, etc. let’s not turn this into “my stress beats your stress”. Stress is stress and working here doesn’t help.
@kh thats been happening. Thats why their as--s are being sued and reported to state EEOC. Between the forced wfh status followed by termination for it and falsifying performance ratings, i cant wait to see this place buckle
A purge of WFH may be underway, from what I’m seeing.
Also myself and others from BTS in Philly
Hopefully folks got some sort of severance. It’s a stressful situation especially if you have a family but consider this a blessing in disguise. You’ve been afforded the ability to search for a new role full-time. BNY is a toxic pile of manure Good luck to you all.
most likely a result of p-m wave 5 day 1 target
Any losses in the risk area?
I am so so sorry to hear of the valuable intelligent and skilled experts who lost their jobs today. May you all get something much better than BNY very quickly! It is a double shock to hear that the severance rules have gone from bad to worse. People getting 1 week per year? How can they get away with this? Was this announced?
Yes it is. They are purging their older more expensive employees even if they are qualified and experienced and can fill other open roles.
@ay I was in engineering, DSS
So sorry to hear this news. When a window closes, a new window opens. Wishing you all a peaceful transition and better days ahead. 🙏
@b2 thats ridiculous sorry to hear that.
@b3 wow. Sorry to hear that. Were you all in the same group
17 of us let go in Pittsburgh. Didn’t see it coming honestly. A little in shock.
@b0 not av, but I got 1 week every year worked rounded up, so a month severance. Really su-ks since I would've have paternity leave in a month and a half.
@av are they atleast giving severance after sc--wing everyone over ?
What departments are being hit?
Got my golden ticket this morning
@af yeah i heard if june wasnt it then sept definitely will be
Yep, got canned today at Pittsburgh.
Confirmed in PIT
So disgusting of BNY as usual while RV puts on a front for the world acting like this place is amazing . Unreal
I am hearing a lot of people that were supposed to be let go aren’t because managers got an extension. They will now be told in August for September layoff.
Yes, it has started. The train has left the station.
