Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Wake up!!!

For some reason especially the the legacy CSC people seem to be in a trance and reluctant to leave. Many have viable skills and there are many opportunities out there. Update your resume and leave before it’s too late. It’s a shame of what happened with the merger but most of us knew this would happen. I believe WFRs, slow-pays and clients jumping ship will expedite the inevitable.

You'll be gone. Why wait until April 2, just leave now

If you're got a few years left or want to take it easy as possible doing the minimum as possible then DXC is the right place to stay, collect the $$/££, don't need to care for you customers or co-workers anymore (why bother) and just coast until retirement or WFR.

@vqu, I'm 52 and yes there are openings - but you have to look for them. Smaller companies love the experience and maturity older workers can bring, and if you're a mentoring sort of person then that add so much value to you, as you can pass on your experience and knowledge.

Your best bet is to fire up LinkedIn and start talking with every person you know personally and see what you can find.

It's this age where you discover the value of the wake you leave behind. Were you a jerk to people in the past? Consider yourself screwed now. Were you a person who elevated everyone around you and brought calm to situations? Consider yourself a desirable hire.

I can attest to life after DXC, especially in the 50+ age group. I was WFR'd due to age related factors which were not disclosed in writing but verbally confirmed by my dipst1ck manager. #IseeDXC

I'm ex-CSC and left over a year ago. I saw the writing on the wall, and it was written with an indelible pen. Since I left, it seems nothing has changed, and the posts on this site tend to confirm that.

But yes, there are IT job opportunities out there, though admittedly fewer for the over 50's. Small companies may well be a better option, you could go contracting, or maybe try a complete change of career.

Have faith in yourself, your abilities, and be brave.

Giving it till April 1, and if I don't get a good raise I am out on April 2. Problem is i am over 62 and there is no work for technical people like me. I run circles around all the younger people, work days, nights and everything because I take ownership.

But April, 1 is the date , a nice fat increase in my salary or on Thursday I am gone.
