Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Reality vs not at Ford

This defines our “leadership” deficit:

The reality:
Ford acquired its ADT joint-venture "Canopy" and discontinued its standalone Pickup Cam. Original hardware and app subscribers are receiving full hardware refunds and are no longer supported.

The Ford “leadership” bio:
He also co-founded and led the AI-driven venture Canopy from inception through a joint venture and its successful acquisition by Ford Motor Company.

How do you call a venture that refunded all customer money SUCCESSFUL???
Only at Ford would this person still have a job.

Ford Europe has pathetic results and is declining. Sounds like a fitting punishment assignment for being a non performer.

Reality at Ford is spending your life working under a steaming pile of toxic management.

@2d5 Ford is such a miserable place to be. The people who rise through that company seem to be rewarded for being vindictive and sociopathic, and it shows. Whenever anyone notable leaves, whether they're engineers, leaders, or high-profile hires, they suddenly become the target of anonymous smears, astroturfing, and nonstop sh-t talking. It's one of the most retaliatory workplace cultures I've ever seen.

I genuinely don't understand why our communities still partner with this company, including our educational institutions. How do people look past this kind of behavior, and why are we encouraging students and young professionals to join a place like Ford? Is it just because it's a household name in our home state? That doesn't make this culture acceptable.

The worst part is that it isn't even limited to senior employees. Even people who are just starting their careers and decide the company isn't for them end up dealing with people like you who can't let it go. That says everything about the culture. It's like an ex who can't accept that the relationship is over and becomes obsessed with tearing you down after you leave them. That's exactly how this place comes across. This sh-t is more obsessive than Gone Girl, and half the town seems content to enable it and act like the fixation is somehow mutual instead of calling it out for what it is. It's genuinely bizarre.

Has Aragon started subscriptions to mirrors like he did at his last job?

@vm whoever got sent to sell subscriptions in Europe must be severely lacking in marketable skills to get a dead end assignment.

@j0 lying your way into a new job is almost impossible these days. I had an interview last week and before we met the hiring manager had looked at my LinkedIn page and had already talked to two people we know in common.

@j0 every person in this group has an inflated resume because they have zero actual accomplishments to show for their billions in spending. FordX, FordNext, Integrated Services, all failures, but all are still here collecting paychecks.

Finding a new job might be better than being sent to sell subscriptions in Europe.

If only FLV was still in charge by now they would have sold a billion dollars in subscriptions to the door locks that work to keep intruders out of your vehicle.

Most people would omit having been CEO of “Canopy Security LLC” since it was a $200 million failure.

Lying on your CV is never a good idea because some people know the truth .
