Just to echo what has probably been said before, if you are on a process improvement plan, consider it "working severance". HR uses this as criteria to RIF. If you enter a PIP, brush up your resume and apply elsewhere. The actual severance they offer at L3Harris you'll get is likely not enough to cover the 3 months you'll need to find an equivalent position.

If you are one of the people tasked with letting someone go, keep this in mind; losing a job is probably one of the worst things that's ever going to happen to them in their life. Don't add insult to injury by telling them how hard this is for you. It isn't hard for you. Because inside, you're just glad it's not you sitting there and you know it. And so does the person sitting across from you. L3 Harris likes to fire people over the phone, or online, or through some third party who really doesn't want to do it. L3 Harris has a criteria for its management personnel; you must be a coward.

Well sometimes the bast thing to do with a bad methodology is the sit back and let it fail. Meetings this morning at my SAS location. Some long term people are going to go.
Soon.

Correct. Take a look at who was promoted out of the bargaining unit into management. They picked the worst performers with the worst attendance and the worst disciplinary records and promoted them. Nice message to the people who kept their noses clean and did things by the book. A slap in the face.
Fu-k L3 Clifton.

L3 Harris has the opportunity to solve two problems at once during this trimming.. they can save and generate a lot of money, and they can rid themselves of some of the worst workers the company has ever had. They can also solve their glaring reverse discrimination problem by closing Clifton New Jersey and permanently firing everyone who works there.

Imagine you're being walked out in April 2024 while well connected slackers who didn't get laid off gave you that snarky smile as you leave, only to have a recruiter call you back over a year later like they're doing you a favor. The audacity infuriates me. Only a feckless loser would ever go back.

It wasn't just SAS last week. And it's not over yet. My manager tells me there will be more to follow the week beginning Monday, the 24th of November. There will be the opportunity for some in upper management to take a package and sign a waiver. Others will not get that opportunity. The RIF at this location will not require a WARN notice because it is below the legal threshold. (The voluntary separations are not counted as layoffs). The bargaining unit has not been notified of any layoffs as required by their contract so, the RIF will be primarily management people. Planning, engineering, quality, and non-union operations personnel. Human resources at this location functions mostly as a satellite office of Melbourne and has no real authority.
Upper management will be reorganized while the bargaining unit leadership seems to have stabilized. Retention of skilled labor, (touch labor) has been incentivized by a better than average contract. The details of which will not be disclosed here.

how would you like to run a business and have to constantly worry about everything other than the state of your products, customers and sales

this place is stupid, hire a bunch of mediocre actors to play management and operate as a tool to manipulate finances on the government dole, all in the name of defending us from some more imaginary enemies

L3H has an end of the year holiday present for the employees and it’s worse than a lump of coal.

I could never attend one of those events. For some reason, whenever I was in the presence of my leadership at L3 harris, I found myself unable to eat.
