Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

We're all on a PIP

They simply do not wanna pay us severance so they take more and more things away that are counted as “credits” for “productivity”. i called it many moons ago that ever since we became shared services, everyone has been on a PIP. but they just dont call it that.
I exceed productivity each day, thats just my norm. But I get hit with petty emails over small mistakes.

Exactly what @a5+1jmaemsnc said.

They will PIP your way out of job by terminating you but they really want you to quit so they don’t have to pay unemployment benefits. It’s tough, but know your rights and don’t let them push you around. Document everything and seek support if needed.

@ve - Although I can empathize with what you are saying regarding small mistakes becoming bigger ones, you should also bear in mind the TREMENDOUS amount of pressure those client facing staff are under very single day to produce produce produce ! And then they have 3-4 layers of management that just basically do nothing but rports and discuss how to " break the latest sh*tty news " to these people that are overworked, overstressed and have less and less work life balance telling them " just one more thing " You have a lot of people marking your post negative for this reason.

It's so helpful to read all of this. They just increased the production requirement at Fidelis Care by a full 20% in the MIDDLE of a quarter instead of aiting for the new quarter to give us new expectations ( I didnt think they were allowed to do that since everything is delivered in writing at the proper timing ) At the same time they are also brow beating people over their " quality scores " on the recorded lines.
Now I'm reading they are considering taking everyones health insurance away in other posts. I wish they would just sell us back to the diocese at this point . They are not treating the customers, the employees or the name ANYTHING like they promised they would.
They have a lot of fancy buzzwords about psychological safety and all that cr-p, but when they are pushing you to work harder and harder and harder and taking all your benefits away one by one... its more like psychological torture.

Wow. I have officially been put on a PIP, due to quality, when I started here our Claims per hour where 26 for FTC, now 4 years later they are at 36 CPH with a 99.9 % quality that is ludicrous, I think they are purposely setting stateside workers up to fail cause honestly if you do 250 claims in a day they will 100% of the time find a mark on your audits, and if they find you once you can expect them to be auditing you every single day. They say once a week but if that was the case you would not get audits back everyday. Since they have started outsourcing to India anyone stateside has become extremely expendable. I love my job when I started, but now I have anxiety because they have on a PIP and. Are auditing the he-l out of me.

I applied for a job with this company. I come from one of the larger Health Insurance companies. After reading this, I'm glad I received the automated rejection email. According to the rejection email, I was carefully considered. I do not think I made it through the ATS. Good luck to all of you.

One the nit picking begins, it won't stop. Employees are being made to feel like the whipping boy for their team and told "not to discuss" corrective actions against them or that they are on a PIP. People being human actually DO discuss it amongst themselves and find out they aren't the only whipping boy on the team. Upper management sits in on meetings for follow ups on "verbal reprimand" and proceeds to tongue lash employees and make them cry. Give me a break, it's all a power trip. Why is upper management in a meeting over verbal warnings, why does a market manager care if an employee was corrected over something they aren't even written up over?

“I exceed productivity each day, thats just my norm. But I get hit with petty emails over small mistakes.”

Are the emails over the mistakes counted against you? And sometimes “petty mistakes” ripple down further than you realize. Speaking as someone who deals with what someone and their small mistakes cause on the daily. Quality over numbers. Hit your quota but do it right. There are other areas and systems affected. If this doesn’t apply then disregard but some folks need to hear it who I know are lurking this forum.

Shared Services here too, And productivity is a joke. They upped the expectations but never told anyone so we all are “in trouble” 10+ years and i’m so ready to be fired

The aggressive audits and constant productivity & availability conversations absolutely are for the purposes of decreasing "performance" raises. I agree 100% that they are creating an atmosphere in which they are low-key instigating constructive dismissal. Reasons: to get out of paying severance or unemployment by getting you to quit, to offshore most, if not all non-member facing roles to pay even less than the abysmal wages they pay people state side now. The company is a disgrace but then again, so are most of the MHC companies out there these days.

I assumed the aggressive audits and constant productivity conversations were for the purposes of decreasing "performance" raises. Now it feels like they are going to the route of making the workplace so inhospitable that we see ourselves out.

I don't work shared services but for a health plan.
We get a brow beating over the tiniest and irrelevant errors and it's ki-ling moral on our team.
