Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Shut-up please

Another day on a bridge call, where you have twice as many managers than what is needed. And they're all trying to outdue the others when it comes to being overly obnoxious and throwing their weight around.

The best way to cool their heels is to ask a question in regard to something a manager who has real experience managing technical resources would have done, knowing they didn't do it or have a clue. I did that today and the bridge went silent for about 15 seconds before the redirection started.

I miss the day of having managers that had real world experience in the areas that they managed. Which is not the case at Gainwell.

A Bad Manager is one that tells a whole department they will participate in On-call rotation with no additional pay without knowing how illegal that is. Basically telling them that can't leave the house for 2 weeks because GW does not hand out cell phones.

In the military, they tear you down to build you up as a better you. At Gainwell, they tear you down to make you a lesser you.

@12r The grass is so much greener.

All the angry people that choose to stay don’t like to see the people that made the smart decision to leave be successful.

I left Gainwell and now earn much less than I used to. But the teams etiquette is wonderful! Get out while you can! /s

I have never met so many people that have poor etiquette when it comes to team meetings especially the foreign workers. Let me finishes my statement before you start to talk over me. That is so rude! When that starts I just tone you out anyway.

Yes, it's the largest collection of senior management and director id--ts ever assembled, perhaps the GOAT collection of id--ts ever assembled.

In all my years working in IT. I've worked for companies bigger and smaller than Gainwell. But I have never worked at a company as dysfunctional as Gainwell.

The ratio of non-technical managers immediately over technical sources are astounding. And at any other company would not be permitable. How do you proficiently directly manager resources for which you have no real practical experience yourself. 'You can't'.

How many troubelshooting calls have been off-tracked by those same managers? too many times to count. Those same managers don't even have the proper resources in place nor do they comprehend best practices. That alone says enough.

Sometimes I wanted to jump out of my skin listening on calls, knowing a bad idea was going to be rolled out (badly) because one person "in power" was pushing a personal agenda. Then there would be a correction fire-drill in which everyone would have to pitch in to fix stuff, amid mass confusion. Enough to drive a person crazy!

Agree 100% with OP.

Especially id--tic VPs hired by GA in implementation Practice. They know nothing about solution but will try every breath to show off their dimwit.
