Is this true? Nobody I know has gotten one. They are usually sent out the day before or the day of.

@sv: No, they rarely do. Not unless you are an executive with a parachute. Also, you can be terminated for another reason besides an LR. Could be a PIP. One thing is for sure, you aren't going to get a lot of notice; too much liability.
@sv sorry but some invites do happen earlier than last minute. I literally got the invite yesterday and flat out said something like "so I'm losing my job Thursday" to manager and they didn't say another word.
No. You'll get a spontaneous "hey, got a sec" -- or you MIGHT get an invite the day before for the next day. Don't be paranoid. Cancellations and rescheduling happens all the time. Also, news flash -- you don't need a quarter to end for an LR to happen. It can happen anytime. They don't need to put out a WARN notice either unless it's over a certain number at a given point.
@sc what org are you in?
@sc how can you get LR'ed once you are already LR'ed?.. cr-p! gupt..yea gupt..
I got invite Monday for what I know is an LR meeting Thursday.
@m9 you are cooked ! let us know how it goes on Friday AM.
my org has a bi-quarterly sync (it's recurring every 6 weeks on Thursdays) that was scheduled for this Thursday and I just got an email saying it's canceled. not sure what the repercussions are but it feels ominous.
@k7 are you being funny? When? For how long? What time?
I had my 1-2-1 moved to thursday... wish me luck
Just keep in mind you might also get an invite to let you know that someone in your team has been impacted, and their role has now moved to x-x. I wouldn’t worry unless the invite comes in the day before and is for 15 mins only, as the managers are given a script to read and they keep it short.
yes I got my invite for the LR in May, another invite for the one in June, and another for the one in July
@b6 I wish it was my friend! I really was it was. If I come out safe and it was just a scheduling conflict I will surely come back on here and share the news!
@c3 thanks. Are you a leader or something? Just curious if the process has changed possibly for them to do such a thing suddenly days in advance. 🤷♂️
Since LRs have begun at Cisco, impacted employees have consistently had 1:1s scheduled after-hours the night before their call the next morning, certainly not a week in advance.
@OP I don’t know if it’s true or not but I oddly see I have a meeting invite by my manager for Thursday instead of our normal mondays. He didn’t change anyone else’s times oddly. But he certainly changed mine this past Thursday. And I have one for a June 4th that falls on a Friday for the same and then it’s back to the regular weekly schedule. We have our team meeting a few hours after my meeting with him. Is it odd, yes it’s very odd post earnings.
its internet BS
got an invite for an all hands on thursday
@OP you wish! Totally not true. Why telescope an ominous event so far in advance and deal with all the potential fallout for a week? More likely to show up on the impacted calendars the morning of.
