Thread regarding NCR Corp. layoffs

The Cat's Out of the Bag

During a town hall El Jefe let the cat out of the bag – NCRV is making less money than it is spending so the reduction last week was necessary. He did say he was looking forward with excitement – most likely because he knows there are thousands more that can be cut if necessary!!

Something else that he said was important, he encouraged everyone to go to your doctor appointments and take care of your sick children.

It is what he did not say that is really important here – the fact that they are tracking the number of days in the office and amount of time that you are in the office – so he should have also added that since they are tracking everyone’s time - make sure you are in the office the required number of hours or you will be placed on the next CUT list…

Some friendly advice - to be careful you might want to take a sick day or vacation day when you have to take care of yourself and your family!!

Something else they don’t advertise – you can also take time off without pay. This is useful if you have run out of vacation or sick days and it is obviously not the most desired path but it may just help you keep your job….especially next year when the 5 days / week…8 hours per day requirement kicks in.

My advice is to take your vacation without pay and then save your vacation days for when life happens…I am being sarcastic of course..

To paraphrase El Jefe – if you don’t want to be here 5 days a week 8 hours per day then they don’t want you!! In my opinion that includes just about everyone..

Layoffs confirmed January 2026 for Voyix. This company is a sinking ship led by horrible leadership who hates you.

Documenting your hours in the office and documenting the way the company and your manager treats you is important when getting a RIF and fighting for your package. Employment lawyers love it.
When I was thinking it was coming I contacted an employment lawyer and was advised to document, it was nearly 2 years until I got the RIF. My manager went as far to send all his emails so you couldn’t forward them, disabled copy functions, and even disabled screen shots. You could use something like snip it or even take photos, but who does this stuff.

My manager would also record all teams meetings, nothing was honest. In the end I was prepared and had my lawyer 10 min after being RIF. Prepare for when it happens, you will know it’s coming, you can even bait your boss and document their abusive responses.

If you have issues that limit your ability due to health issues, get an intermittent FMLA to document your disability. This is extremely important if they let you go. This can make the difference between no income or years of disability income. An intermittent FMLA can be used for doctors appointment, etc for a max of 12 weeks per year, or as little as 0 hours total.

@a1
Could be that they are also tracking what they consider "productivity hours". They track the activity on your PC. They have a formula that breaks down how many keystrokes you should be doing per hour, (depending on your job description). They only count the total of hours that you meet that goal. They probably have had the formula for quite some time but really started using it during covid to track productivity. Now it could be that once everyone came back they see it as a way to eliminate staff that they feel are not working hard enough. (All speculation, so take it with a grain of salt)

@ee we don’t have an exit swipe except for the parking areas. The average duration doesn’t really line up with how long we’re actually in office so I’ve been writing down my times just in case.

The dashboard does work for offices that don’t have exit swipes.

Maybe during next hackathon they can design a tracking system that works and doesn’t sc--w over the employee with bad stats.

I don’t really understand that new dashboard tracking. I’m 100% adherent for 5 days in but my average duration only shows 3 hours and I’m usually there at least 6-7 hours but head out a bit early to avoid rush hour traffic. Same with one of my coworkers, they only show 1 hour average but they are there close to 10 hours a day since they just stay late to avoid rush hour.
