Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

What's happening in June / July

It's confirmed there are layoffs but what %?

The 15-20% numbers include people being divested but what actual numbers for layoffs ?

@tb Ayman’s new online strategy using AI bots as trolls. The truth always comes out, however sometimes it needs to get through a lot of noise first.

@rq you are right. The fate of all of our IP is with other companies that will (hopefully) make investments in the products. It all about selling off everything and moving on. All the folks hoping to coast into retirement here will need to grasp that they will eventually be moved to a new company or let go. And for people just joining now (not sure why) you’ll be laid off or getting a paycheck from another company soon.

@rx You're either a plant, or one of these delusional drones who think a corporation needs you to defend its honor, or a complete id--t. The last two being the most likely. You could also be from India and worried that your scam is almost over.

But the math ain't mathing. There's too much debt and the stock price is over 50% down from five years ago. Divestitures and layoffs will never be enough to correct the this. OT is ruined, tainted, beleaguered, over burdened, cursed. It will go the way of RIM, and it deserves to.

@rq incorrect. He is there to grow the company

@k5 Because he's a contract hire, a hitman. He's there to slim things down to optimize for full sale of entire company.

@c2
Don't know if this will help but several years ago I was laid off right after the July 4th holiday weekend. They just waited for us to come back.
The year after I had colleagues that were let go on July 2nd.
I think as long as it is within the first 2 weeks of July..that appears to be the target.

I wonder if moving the US holiday from July 6th to July 3rd plays any role in a July layoff. Anyone know?

I can confirm there will be layoffs. The extent is unknown but it will be impactful. Will hit in July to lessen the risk on q4 performance.

No one knows what the new CEO’s plan is but the only certainty is pumping the stock price is laying off people in the name of “AI”. Even if Ollie is hot garbage
