I realized that all of my employees are hired within the last year, and most within the last six months or less. I’ve never seen a Belk will all new hires. The writing is on the wall crystal clear. Take warning managers, it does not look promising.

@ras+1dqb811b I had to watch that video too! It seemed ridiculously out of date when I watched it back in probably ‘06. I was set up in the break room to watch it right around lunch time so folks kept coming in on their breaks and I felt embarrassed even to be watching it. It was so corny! I have thought about it so many times over the years and have never been able to find it online. I was almost beginning to think I’d exaggerated the cheesiness. I wish I could get my hands on that vid!
Yes new hires paid more than us, and we are expected to train them
I think back to well over 15 years ago. Our training consisted of watching vhs videos of Tim and Johnny belk explain some basic handbook policy in a very wooden manner, an embarrassing video of older women rapping about gift wrapping, and that was about it. They either put us in a truck with a pallet jack and said, "Load up pallets with boxes, bring them out and sort them", or put us at a register and said, "Here, if you have any questions, call a manager."
I'd train those new people, alright. Just like management did us at the end of my "tenure": I'd sit back, eat biscuits, sip iced latte, and point at stuff and say, "Straighten that up", or, "Get some windex and clean that wrap stand".
Oh, the good times we had! #Sarcasm
