@g1 PepsiCo doesn’t do WARN notices for mass layoffs across the organization. It would rather pay the minimal fee/fine than generate negative press.
Bring it on. I’m not sure why they’re procrastinating. Maybe senior leadership wants to make it a Christmas surprise. Who cares about the holidays anyway

Well it wasn’t today. So when. Hearing the 1st week of December. To division leadership this is extremely unhealthy in so many ways. I know you think what you’re doing is the right thing for the company. You are WRONG it’s toxic like a cancer. Turning great people/ employees against your / our company. Pepsi blue is no more….very sad!
Unfortunately it’s going to be this way for a while….restructuring is the future of PepsiCo. At least once maybe twice a year from now on

Kinda odd, but I’ve seen two separate events on my calendar be canceled today with no explanation. This could mean nothing, but still odd..
some things that were scheduled for next week are being cancelled. Something is coming.

The only thing I’ve heard and believe is something will happen before the end of year. That being said people are speculating 1st or 2nd week of December. It could be just as likely the 1st of 2nd week of November which would make more sense. Change is coming and the people that are in the loop and staying silent. We just have to wait and see!

Extended to 2030. VRPs should start the process. Don’t have to count those as layoffs and create openings for displaced college recruits.

Is tomorrow going to be the day?. Heard several times is was the 1st week of December.
In total it’s going to be 3000. That’s what’s budgeted for this year. Not sure who or why yet but that’s what is coming
@fy warn notices required above a certain threshold at one facility...if check prior Pepsi warn notices they're largely limited to facility closures where entire facility employees all get cut. In all prior layoffs for Plano and Purchase no warn filed.
If it's less than 500 at a single location (and with work from home people unclear), then not needed...and between purchase and Plano for next month could be up to 1k
They’re are not any WARN notices for PepsiCo filed. So no layoffs. Tough it out.
@dh absolutely, no one getting paid to read their own severance emails.
Seeing sales engagement with distributors in retail and foodservice being slowed or stopped already. Everyone seems to know it's coming...distributors/retailers also catching on as they'll be dealing with someone else and less frequently in few weeks, once the sales coverage model shrinks.
Oh thank god. I had admitted myself to the ER due to a panic attack from this. I need that bonus to pay off my debt I used to feed my family the past year as a single mother.

@bz I don't check emails at night or weekends. I got a 1% raise that equaled 39 cents/hour. 21 years at Frito and barely make over 60k. I keep seeing the biometric log on they want us to use. They assume I use my personal phone that they don't pay for to do work. Boy are they wrong.

@bm PepsiCo is no longer ran by legacy. They’re new people from all over the world looking for easy money and citizenship. Probably don’t even know what VRP stands for.
@bf The was to get them out and not have to pay that person’s pension contribution. It’s a financial reasoning. The more that leave, the less percentage the have to contribute yearly.
I see the description of the 2023 template in the comments. I do not check Sunday night invites any longer. I do not check email on nights or weekends either. This company gives me the bare minimum in pay and annual raise. I right sized my dedication after last year’s abysmal salary increase. I also have my calendar blocked in the mornings. They will be sitting on a call without me.
@bf this is the exact question that kept it off the table for YEARS. There is an inherent fear in PEP, we will not survive without the seasoned veterans that broke their backs building this place. A VRP is a great opportunity for those seasoned vets to say goodbye. It’s not coincidence that Frito is suffering today. They are not only facing a categorical issue on health, inflation, pricing greed. They are also facing a loss of valued and seasoned veterans that knew how to dig in and face the street battles that made us great.
@bf That's easy. Almost all people eligible for the VRP will start drawing on 1/1/26 the maximum ARC contribution of 9%, and most will also qualify for the max 401k match (all in lieu of Pension growth). It also let's the company get out from under salaries that are likely higher due to the age and experience and levels of those eligible. Additionally, it's an easy way to build a younger workforce without concerns about ageism since VRP people have to request and voluntarily apply for it. And the roles that are vacated? Those can be eliminated or if necessary they create open seats to shift other people into without the usual protocol of posting roles since it becomes part of a "reorganization".
@b9 So what IS their incentive to EVER offer a VRP? Serious question. I can think of a few reasons, but none seem convincing to me.
@OP the annual review cycle has nothing to do with layoffs. It’s a completely separate process needed for business continuity. They didn’t expedite the process, this is nothing but speculation.
I’ve heard the same about the week of December 8th.
VRPs are a relatively new concept and I heard we received the VRP offering in FLNA first. The beverage side joined the next year. It is not an option that is guaranteed. I’d guess they did this in the first round of this program because they had time to wait to see how many were culled and how many needed to be replaced. They no longer have time if you look at our results in Frito and add in the Elliot pressure.
