BLOCK announced layoffs this week due to the impact of AI, but with that, Jack announced the following severance plan for affected people: 20 weeks of full pay PLUS one week for every year of tenure, six months of full healthcare benefits, all corporate devices can be kept, and $5000 of transition assistance dollars. @qd - Yes. That was POLS that got sold by AB and no one got severance. Post this even they cancelled severance for everyone and basically said if someone does not like they can quit and still no severance. There is an interesting article posted in 2023. Not sure if this was resolved.

The worst part is layoffs 3-4ish years ago involved a very comparable package. My laid off coworkers had a whole year of severance. It was only in the last year that they updated it to say that there is no longer a policy, it's only a "guideline", and it's up to each manager. Complete insanity
