Thread regarding L3Harris Technologies layoffs

@sg the reason for a partial spin-off is to avoid paying a tax on the profit from selling it. By dodging the capital gains tax, L3 can hold it off as a partially owned subsidiary. L3 will not buy it back. They will sell it off in the not too distant future.

@q8 AXYV is still majority owned by L3H and at least in part will probably continue to act like a segment in some regard. The primary reason to do this spinoff was to raise capital by putting on the stock market. Some years from now we could either fully sell it off or buy it back.

Had an interview with one of the managers there. Said that the Yorba Linda site wouldn't be part of L3Harris for long. They are spinning off the missile division into a new company called AXYV. They also put out a news release a few weeks ago.

Why would you even consider going back to the company that laid you off? What ever they didn't like about you probably hasn't changed. Clifton has a number of people that were laid off and came crawling back. But they are pathetic and obviously unable to secure a job any place else.

Do yourself a big favor get out of L3Harris and find yourself a real job at a decent company like RTX

I wouldn't bank on a long term job with L3HARRIS in California, New York or New Jersey since L3 has been planning to move out of those States.
