Thread regarding Fidelity National Information Services Inc. layoffs

Is it time for FIS Tech Dev to Unionize

I am sorry. I can only speak for the Tech people at FIS, but I am tired of watching my co-workers get laid off or moved to third party consultants to get laid off without severance. I am tired of wondering if I will have a job next quarter. I am tired of upper management lying to our faces. Those off-shore consultant firms pay their employees not even a quarter of what we make. If they are going to lay me off, it is not going to be to hire someone over seas making a quarter of my salary. What does everyone think?

Anyone looking for a power move, isn't going to find one in time. That is depressing. If anyone knows of one, please share, but all the cards are in the hands of the executives making these decisions. It su-ks.

@px It is illegal to target them specifically because they are trying to unionize, but it is not illegal for them to be caught up in a randomly chosen layoff.

During the process of unionizing, I believe it is illegal to lay off the participants. But I am not sure

Unionizing is a surefire way to have all tech positions immediately pushed out-of-country.

There is a newly created Trade Union in Poland, they’re negotiating layoffs for Customer Service - you can reach out to them to ask for advice.

Start by reaching out to them. This is what they do. They can tell you how it works.
