Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

When you keep lying about pay and earnings

The Employees and Wall Street dont believe Raul F. "The debut of the Xponential AI framework adds a fresh storyline, but with not a single major analyst rating DXC a 'buy' – unlike its IT services peers – the company’s still playing catch-up.

As digital transformation gathers pace globally, DXC’s stronger cash flow and AI push could keep it in the game for the long haul – as long as it can deliver on its promises."

Maybe if you all start working to the best of your ability, the margins for projects will come down and DXC can retain and get new business. You all not doing your best is causing DXC to fail.

I just did a search across the usual AI bots on the prospects for DXC and these two sentences struck me:
“ The company has been in transition for years from legacy IT outsourcing to more cloud/digital work. Analysts express doubt about how quickly that transition will work.
• For example, one report: “DXC has been in a transition for multiple years … one has to ask … if this business can be fixed.”

Not exactly a vote of confidence in the company is it. The only upside is that the Insurance division is doing well while GIS and CES are declining.

@q1 "it would be a terrible idea to acquire something at this stage. They need to focus on fixing the company first."
Sorry, that ship has sailed, it's unfixable !!
No top tier management who know how to run a company for profit
No products customers want to buy.
No SME's, they've all left.
No engaged staff, lack of pay rises over many years saw to that.
Its just re-arranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.

@pc I’d love to do something, but it’s a constant battle with process and paperwork — and we’re losing. Anything you touch seems to fall apart because it was built years ago and held together with tape. The new stuff isn’t much better. I’ve honestly never seen this much technical debt.

I know I could make a real difference, but instead I’m told, “the client didn’t ask you to fix that — just add more on top of what’s already there.” Meanwhile, contractors come and go without any ownership; they deliver their piece, then leave behind another mess for us to deal with. There’s just no quality or continuity or care. Something to do with no pay rise I imagine??

Share price back to normal decline today after dxc's share buyback yesterday. You can't prop up the share price of a tu-d. And like all tu-ds, the only way is down. The only people who think there is value in dxc shares is dxc!

@nr
Unfortunately my manager and his managers don’t hold this view. If we don’t meet or exceed last years target of performance we’re in trouble therefore we have to make an effort whether we like it or not. Yep, we could leave but not always possible.

The other thing that was puzzling me is that they’ve apparently got this large cash surplus and seemingly doing nothing with it - no acquisitions of even small boutique AI players, no real investment in new IT infrastructure, no investment in streamlining internal processes, no investment in getting rid of redundant systems, etc - so as a poster below says, it could be that they’re building up the cash and buying back shares with a view to selling some or all of DXC?
Either way you wouldn’t trust this current bunch of 3rd rate execs to run a bath let alone a large IT company.

@mh The reality is we’re not really working hard at all — we just look busy. Most of it’s admin, meetings, and intentionally blocking each other. The people who cared have mostly gone, and what’s left is a mix of burnout and apathy. There’s zero incentive to do better because doing better just means more work for the same pay. The company broke long ago. How it survives is beyond me.

@kj they want to buy back shares so they have control and can sell company for pennies on the dollar all while getting a massive bonus. We all keep working hard so there is no reason for them to give us money. Others just leave while we sit here and complain.

It looks like the ‘pay rise’ money has been spent on buying back the shares last Friday 10/31.
5.6m shares were traded on that day while the normal 50 day average is 1.8m so a significant increase in the volume and a resulting slight increase in the share price.
Not sure it’s fooling analysts or Wall Street but it’ll obviously have an impact on Raul /co’s bonus if the share price improves.
Sickening isn’t it???

They talk the talk. But when it comes down to it. It's all waffle. They can't approve anything. They let the staff who could do this and wanted to walk out the door because there is no mechanism for managers to retain staff.

I’m can’t figure out what Xponential AI framework is? Is it some third party product they are integrating? Is it ServiceNow, SAP, VMWare Tanzu or other? It sounds too good to be true which has me skeptical. Could be just application services with some helper products.

Amazing its even known in the mainstream media outlets that DXC Management cannot be trusted.

Everyone knows that pay reviews are not implemented and they make up excuses every year.

"as long as it can deliver on its promises."

The statement sums up DXC Management, on evidence so far it does deliver what it promises.

Xponential AI framework when anyone says "framework" it means there is nothing behind it, vaporware
