Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Leadership here is a mess

Leadership here is a mess. They talk like they know the work but they really don’t. Cliques run everything and block anyone who’s not in the circle. Some leaders lie straight to your face and HR backs them while they push people out. Employees are treated like tools, not people, and anyone who doesn’t fit in gets picked at until they give up. No wonder so many are quitting.

@p9 100%. I am being gaslit left and right by managers here. It’s almost as if they view my abilities as a threat versus an asset. Good for you for getting out! I’m not far behind, whether forced or voluntary. Now, back to staring at the wall…

In this bank is not your knowledge or years of experience. I brought to the bank a lot of knowledge from prior banks where I worked for many years where I was being rated as a 4 and 5 in all of my reviews. US Bank gave a rating of 3. I was informed that in general the budget was only allowing ratings of 3. My knowledge was never used nor I was reached out for my input. Only those individuals that were in the click group were given projects and included. For me this has been a horrible experience working for managers that took weeks to answer emails with no knowledge. I am leaving the bank this week and hope that something happens that will help other people that are staying.

@nq Same. If you aren’t a favorite, you are hung out to dry here. I’ve worked many corporate jobs and this is by far the worst organization I have worked for as far as favoritism and tribalism goes. I think a lot of people are staying for the moment because of economic uncertainty and depending on your grade you’ve got those golden handcuffs on. Ok. I’ll just continue to sit here and get paid to scroll my phone. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What annoyed me is not that they are only toxic but also highly incompetent. That’s dangerous combo…

When I was hired and brought lots of knowledge all my work was used to promote favorites and help others succeed.

Gosh, this sounds just like the WCIB world under DH and IL. They pushed many out that didn't fit the 20's and 30's cliques. Pushing out long term employee's that knew everything going on and were the brains of the group. What's left are employee's that think AI can teach them everything and do their work for them.

I agree with this post. Seeing this first hand over the last two weeks. People are not treated as such.
