Last day was 2/20. Already saw my health improve with my BP and stress coming down. My kids see me more and my quality of life without that workload has been wonderful. Universe was good to remove me from that shedshow happening now. Peace out VZ. You were but only a training ground in my career journey. Only regret was I wish I left before I put more than 10 years in.

@183 I’m so glad I’m out of there too. I just started a new job in a whole new-to-me industry. Hindsight is truly 20/20 - there were plenty of good things about working at Verizon, but the red tape and the lying to themselves and the constant frantic work — and for what?? — it’s not like that elsewhere and my god, why did we wait so long. I’m grateful for my big fat severance and vacation day payout and STI, and now I have a new job where I feel, dare I say, better. ALL OF YOU STILL AT VZ, I can’t tell you enough - GET OUT. THERE IS LIFE OUTSIDE VERIZON. I drank the koolaid for so long and my goodness, the veil has been lifted after my RIF. Why was I so sad in November?
@yz Finance - wash rinse repeat on forecasts where they threw out everything you did and said do it again. And not to mention the daily reviews. It was horrific.
@nd I got paid to leave and found a job before my 2/20 date. VZ was paying me while I waited. I stayed because I had my family on my insurance which was better than my wife’s. I stayed more so for them than me.
What the he-l kind of job were you guys in that gave you high blood pressure lol
Oh please,
Took you 10 years to figure it out, and regret not leaving earlier.
If you were not being laid off, you're probably still working at VZ
Peace out
@f2 congratulations!
Congrats! I’m on my final interview for a new gig and super excited! I’m done doing the job of 3 people! Definitely takes its toll on ones health! Best of luck to all staying or going!
@bt Congrats Bruh. Enjoy your VZ compensation plus your new steady income.

Grass is Def Greener on the Other Side when you are jobless, and collecting unemployment
@OP Goodluck. Plus state unemployment benefits. In a better place with enough to pay all the bills and medical benefits because to find another suitable job being very difficult.
VZ pays a premium to beat you up. There isn't a single person I know that was riffed or retired that regrets leaving. They are mentally better off in every respect. Yes, others jobs won't pay the same, BUT those tend to be better workplaces.
Did you find a new job already? LinkedIn is nothing but ex-VZ people lamenting about being “open to work” and receiving rejection after rejection without so much as an interview or phone call. The job market, especially in NJ, is abysmal. Is that truly better?
Not working better than working, what a revelation
Best of luck to you!
