What's the latest on location strategy? They forced hundreds of people to uproot their lives and move to a hub in 2025. Has anyone heard of anyone being let go after they moved? I'm still seeing many people shown as being in non hub locations in workday. Are they scheduled to relocate this year or somehow they got an exception to stay where they are?

When you can't get to the new location due to health travel etc. Shouldn't be forced to quit...@a2
@qy you will get it…. By feb 2028
@43 The ones sitting in California cost a lot more.
@nd puh-lease. I've been hearing about location strategy since Chainsaw was hired and I'm still 100% remote. Stop promising me that package I want and give it to me already.
Tons of people being downsized now are in hubs. For a while remotes were the majority of the victims. Not any more, there's not enough of them left. Ditto non hubbers. It's a matter of time before just about all Tuesday layoff waves are people working in alleged hubs. For now, some are blissfully unaware, but when hubs start closing, they'll get it.
Location strategy still in play. Any allowances for opt outs will likely go away by end of 2027. In January 2028 we will see who is not in core location and most will be surprised very few if any.
OP, if you think being in a hub provides you protection, you are sorely mistaken.
Unless that hub is in India.
Location strategy will not end until the last US hub closes.
@OP
I was in a hub location and I was let go on 9/30/25. IT LOB.
Client facing businesses and offices are not part of location strategy. They can be anywhere the business needs to be.
Thanks for the pep talk, SP.
to answer OP's original question - location strategy is still happening... some business units or groups are just starting and others started earlier and are done. I haven't heard of any exceptions, just later "waves" and earlier waves.
there are core locations across the firm. 17 plus 2 india 1 philippines
then there are a bunch of "specialty markets" where specific LOBs can opt to stay in, if there is business justification. WPB/PB/Miami is one of those specialty markets... for wealth-related businesses.
And for senior exec mgt, who as everyone should know by now, aren't subject to the same rules as the rank and file. That is corporate america - not just WF.
@ay alternate for CS as he always had an office in PBG. However, a lot of WIM execs are actually moving to WPB and this office will be full time.
Who else other than CS is moving to West Palm? I'll take any glimmer of hope that they'll rethink pulling out of Florida lol
@a8 you’re delusional. West palm
Beach is an “alternate work location” that is registered with finra. Scharf & others have had offices there for years & live there. This is just a new building. Everyone could have alternate locations if approved by the firm & registered with finra. They are senior leadership & we are not. You need to know your place in the machine.
Nice to see executive management spend $500M on HY just to move to FL a few years later.
Pretty much tells you everything you need to know about this group of people.
The location strategy for 2026 is to shift as many jobs to Bangalore as possible.
By now everyone got exception.
Location strategy may be harder to enforce now that CS and other leaders are re-locating to Palm Beach. FL was never a core location except now the elite get to use it.
Not sure about the specific people you mentioned, but there are exceptions to the relocation mandate.
Settle down keyboard clown! Op just wrote a question no need to get all cap typing over reactive on them.
No one was FORCED to do anything.
This is still a free country, and you are FREE to CHOOSE where you want to work and live.
Why are you expending energy comparing your situation to others', and getting all anxious about it? If you don't like the general climate of your work situation, then get active with finding something new. Wells or any other firm/company doesn't owe you stability, a job, or anything else in life. They're not married to you, they're just a place where you have thusfar agreed to exchange your time and talent to be used by them, in exchange for some money.
Don't crane your neck, worrying and comparing yourself with others.
Focus on yourself, and what's best for you, in navigating through life.
